Let's Celebrate Family

I'd like to begin by joining Sheila at Orange Esmeralda, our wonderful host this month at Art Journal Journey with her theme Let's Celebrate.  We should always celebrate family.

And because Moo-Mania & More is heat embossing this fortnight, I'm also joining them.

Of course, because this is so colorful, I also chose to share it with Try it on Tuesday.

No matter how many photos I took,

or how I positioned my camera over this beautiful butterfly stamp sent to me by my dear friend Valerie,

I was never able to capture the raised beauty of the embossing powder.

For this entry, I began with the beautiful gifted butterfly stamp inked with various pigment inks.  I added detail clear embossing powder and heated the powder, after carefully making sure I had removed the excess powder that would act as a resist to the water soluble crayons I used afterward.  Finally, various images of family were chosen to show how to celebrate family.

Thanks for joining me today at Art Journal Journey, Moo-Mania & More, and Try it on Tuesday.  I hope to see you at all three challenge blogs today.

Wonderful page, glad you were able to use the stamp. Have a nice day, we've got snow and fog today, just delightful. Thanks for joining us at TIOT, hugs, Valerie

I thought at first the man in bed was typing on his laptop but actually he is playing patience on a tray while his wife tries to sleep. That's really funny. I suppose it depends on the family whether we celebrate it or not, it's certainly an ideal. I do like your collage with the embossed butterflies flitting about. Yes, it can be very difficult to show shiny, and glittery adequately on the screen.
Today we are celebrating having a family visitor over for the day so your collage here is very apt. I might see if she wants to play patience later (do you call it solitaire?)
Happy Sunday, Elizabeth.

Family really is something to celebrate, and I love how you celebrate it here. Photos often don't catch exactly what we want them to, but I can picture it given your description and these pictures. So sweet!

I think photographing embossing is difficult. But family is something that should be celebrated, and it is good to remember that even when they are driving you nuts, as my husband is right now. I will be over it in 10 minutes I am sure. :) That is a cool butterfly image. It looks great in the rainbow background. Nice way to combine 3 challenges in one. happy Sunday. Hugs-Erika

Embossing never seems to photograph well but I can imagine how pretty it is with that wonderful stamp!

Thanks for popping in to the blog. I'm going to edit my post and add that part about e-6000 (I use that too) and also to let people know if they don't drink wine or save corks, you can buy corks at craft stores. In fact, someone gave me 48 corks last year they bought packaged at a sale. Happy to share if you decide you want to do these!
