Celebrate the season

I'm once again joining Sheila at Orange Esmeralda, our wonderful host this month at Art Journal Journey with her theme Let's Celebrate.

I can't seem to get in the Christmas spirit, so I thought I would try to bring it into my art.  The bear and the toy soldier are both buttons,

as is the train.

The image started life as a calendar page, the background was created using Twinkling H2Os, although the shimmer is lost in the photo.  Three buttons and a strip of leftover hand painted cardstock I printed the sentiment on using a black Sharpie complete the entry.

I appreciate your visit today and hope you will celebrate with Sheila, Susi, and me at Art Journal Journey.

Wonderful page, so festive, even if you aren't in the Christmas spirit - you're not the only one there! Have a nice weekend, hugs, Valerie

It isn’t easy to feel festive with all that is going on in the world. I have moments when I feel it, but then it slips away again. I'm sure we will all get there, and in the meantime your page is beautiful, and it certainly made me feel Christmassy.

It's sometimes hard to find the spirit when one is running around with so much to do. Shopping, cleaning, decorating.Your page looks like it's from a simpler time. A lovely reminder to slow down, breathe, and enjoy.

Hello Elizabeth,
I hope the Christmas spirit is returning to your house. Maybe put up some coloured lights? We bought some pink ones yesterday which are certainly cheering. I like your photos especially the one with the dear little teddy button. Teddies are quite good at celebrating anything, if a bit noisy sometimes.
Love from all here including Douglas.

This is such a beautiful Victorian inspired page Elizabeth. Has the cold weather come your way? I know it was dipping south. Maybe a bit of cold temperatures would put you in the mood a bit, but I think you certainly caught it in your art. What a table centerpiece. Do people other than those with their own decorators even have those any more? Happy Saturday. We have snow arriving later today. Oh boy. Hugs-Erika

Lovely image. If someone could come and decorate my house like that I’d be in the spirit! Nice holiday page.

Everything you did looks very festive and colorful and makes my morning. To be honest with you, it's been rough for me to get into the spirit, but I find that watching Christmas movies where I can see really good things happen to others, lifts me up. Sometimes, it's just doing the little things that can bring about some holiday feelings too. Then it seems like it's over before it even began. I sure hope you're staying warm with some hot chocolate this weekend. Sending some HUGE cyber hugs your way! RO

Some years are just like that, I think. I hope the Christmas spirit finds you. The art piece brims with it, so cheerful, cozy, and inviting.

Oh, I love this piece. The background takes my breath away and the message the little teddy bear is delivering is perfect.
When you're least expecting it the mood will steal up stealthily and bam, you're in the mood;)
