A bird cage
Today, while waiting for my bird nest to dry, I made a bird cage.
I found two more of those despicable wire hangers. I cut them in half at the bottom and bent them using my favorite bending tool and electrical tape.
Originally, I had planned to cover the wire with either fabric or paper, but decided I had already spent enough time on it.
I needed something for the bird nest to sit on, so grabbed this plate that had been a part of my Grandmother's dishes I inheritied. She collected 24 of these, and this one would never be used, and never be missed. Originally, I was going to make a mosaic, but decided against that.
With just a bit of bending and fussing, I hope to make this look like a bird cage worthy of a bird nest.
This is Day 10 of 22 and I recycled two worthless metal hangers, turning them into a bird cage for my bird nest. I also repurposed this chipped and cracked bread plate that would never be used, and would more than likely end up in the trash, since no one in my city recycles ceramics or tableware.
Once again, no word from Blogger as to how to get my icons back on my left sidebar. The "Art Friends" are clickable, but my "Blogs I love to visit," the ones with the updates and the icons of current posts are gone. GONE forever, it appears. When I tried to add them back in via blogger, it wouldn't let me. I am frustrated beyond belief. I see some are able to reach my blog, while others are not. I don't understand that, either. Thank you for your continued support for my art and your understanding of my panic during this situation.

Glad you were able to distract yourself a bit from your woes with the creation of the cage for the bird's nest, I am looking forward to seeing it finished. You should still be able to access all of 'your' blogs over the reading list. Did you get the mail I sent a couple of days back? Have a nice day in spite of it all, hugs, Valerie
Sorry you haven't had much luck restoring your icons back.
I can only comment on your blog if I came via reading list on my blog, otherwise I can't click on any links or leave messages.
Looking forward to seeing what the nest will look like.
Great idea Elizabeth I am sure it will all come together very well a combined project.
I always visit you from my Reading List behind the scenes and all of your links work for me from there. It must be some setting on your home page that has changed as everything works if you come in another way.
Take care
Love Chrissie xx
Hello Elizabeth, I'm not surprised you are going crackers. I still can't click on any of your links and had to type in the comment web address again to get here.
I don't know where you reported the problem but some people have had answers and help from this forum.

Hope this helps.
Your recycling art is such fun and so original.
Will we have baby birds on the nest one day, I wonder?
That's such a lovely project - I really look forward to seeing how it turns out.
Sorry that your problems aren't sorted.
I had a problem with my link list a few months ago as well. The complete list dissappeared and I could't find it again.
And on the AJJ blog I had the problem that the complete icons and so on on the left side were gone.
I just got that fixed by stetting the
blog to -- "show just one post at one page" ...
but my linklist on my private blog I got never back since then.
Good luck with the problem! Hope so you get it sorted soon!

And now I can comment. Earlier this morning, I couldn't. Odd. Still can't find anything about this from Google/Blogger. Hope your issues get resolved soon.
I like how the birdcage is taking shape. Nice that you can repurpose the butter dish from your grandma's dishes. I like the pattern
I am only able to access your blog through my Bloglovin link with updates from you E.
I really feel for you with things disappearing and not working as they should. It would put any of us into a bit of a panic.
Hang in there. Sure hope things get ironed out and back to "normal" very soon.
Clever you making the birdcage from hangers.
It look like it must have taken some muscle to get them to cooperate.
That plate makes a perfect platform too. I really do not like throwing away chipped and cracked china pieces. Sometimes I use pieces standing on end in flower pots as a bit of a backdrop until they fall completely apart out in the elements.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with blogger. Have you contacted them or checked out the message board to see what's going on?
It really is a bad month for this to happen! Glad to see that your camera got fixed! I wondered where the nest was but then scrolled back! This looks as though it is going to be a fabulous project when you have finished! Hugs, Chrisxx
OK, I'm seeing where you were going with this and seeing the finished piece (later post) makes loads of sense! You are so good at experimenting!
Whether you’re beaten or pampered, fed the best foods or starved, kept in filth or kept clean, a cage is still a cage. http://animalkingdom.ph/
