It's tea time

I'm joining Try it on Tuesday (TioT) again with their theme of Time for Tea.

I started by coloring the tea cup and teapot.  I stamped it on an open tea bag.

I turned it into a tea time tag.

I ripped the tea bag when I pressed it while it was wet and whole against the white bag I used as a background.

The cup stamped better than the teapot and cup together.

I used brown ink through a stencil to decorate the tag.

I used the stencil in three places, but only the two ends showed in the final tag.

I cut my own tag from a used file folder.  I added the tea stained white bag and the empty tea bag by sewing them to the tag.  I added a hole and hole protector.  Finally, I added the brown fibers.

Thanks for joining me for tea at Try it on Tuesday.  Thanks, too for stopping by and leaving your lovely comments that mean so much to me.

Oh this is just beautiful combined with stamps and sewing - I love it-specially the worn out touch on the teabag! Super!
I have prepaired a teabag-painting post as well - so I have something new to show for tomorrow's T-Day- combined with the new TioT theme. Great that you are with us at Try It On Tuesday again dear Elizabeth! Always a pleasure to see you at the different challenges!

Happy start of the new week!

I really enjoyed watching the steps to prepare to the tea tag. The lovely colors remind me of loose tea with floral or citrus bits.

Oh Elizabeth I REALLY love this! The stencilling, the stamping on your tea bag(been nabbing T's lately to give this a go!) and then that brilliant sewing! A lovely tag and lots of inspiration to get me going!! Sorry not to have been around much lately - off to see what I missed now! Hugs, Chrisx

Congrats on the tag and the neat use of an actual tea bag. I like the hint of colour and the aged look that tea gives. I never sew so I marvel at cards etc... when they have sewing on them

I think it looks great and your instructions are spot on. I'm beginning the first of a very long collection of catching up! But I wanted to thank you for your comments on the blog -- nice words about the puzzle (far nicer than the ones I've been saying lately!) and our trip. Yes, Jane's house will be wonderful -- but a huge job. You might think the photos I showed are before but the real before included a severely damaged foundation, a porch that was at a 45 degree angle (if that) and half-a-roof!
