Second Thursday tutorial is on hiatus

My sincere apologies that the Second Thursday tutorial is on hiatus.  I actually tried to start something today, but was called away, and spent most of the day out and about, chasing down problems.  When I got home, I faced two loads of laundry, and one small load of hand washables.  So I have next to nothing to show, because I still don't have most of Thanksgiving's photos sorted.

Here is a photo I took for Valerie, showing our electricity poles.  You would think as windy as it is in Kansas, you would see wind farms, but that is simply not the case.  Our electricity comes from coal.

Thank you for understanding and your continued support of my art.  I hope to have the monthly tutorial by next Thursday.

Sorry you are being kept so busy just now, I wondered where you had disappeared to. Thanks for sharing the photo, there are a few poles like that here in out of the way places, but most of the cables run underground. Hugs, Valerie

I like seeing how different Kansas feels from New Hampshire. And I think everyone is ok with you being busy. I put all that pressure on myself also, thinking I need to keep up, and I have to remind myself not to be so worried about it. :) ENJOY your day and relax a bit. There's enough holiday stress as it is. Hugs-Erika

Your tutorial will be appreciated when you get around to posting it. No worry about that. There are lots of "wind farms" in CA. Seems like a good idea to me.

This is a tough time of year to keep on task. Don't beat yourself up. As Scarlet O'Hara said: After all, tomorrow is another day

What a pity they don't use wind farms to harvest all that wind instead of using coal.
Some of the older suburbs in Perth still have the light poles above ground, the newer ones have underground cables.

You sound very busy Elizabeth. I remember when coal was King here in the UK and the air was thick with smoke. Hope it isn't like that where you are

Love Chrissie xx

It's a busy season and unexpected things pop up that can't be avoided. Don't worry about it, we are all still here when your ready.

Older neighborhoods still have the above ground poles here too, and as Darla said, we have a lot of wind farms around, but our electricity bills are astronomical. We finally put solar panels on this year....helps quite a bit during the summer months when we have to run the AC.

Sounds like you're way too busy! Especially this time of year it sometimes seems like there's much too much to do and too little time to actually enjoy the season.

I wonder why wind farms aren't more of a thing when the landscape would seem to support it so well.

Hiatus is a perfect word for this season. I'm going to have to use it myself in a couple of weeks:) Hope you find time for you.
I am not good enough in science to understand how coal and wind convert into electricity. sigh.

There are times when it is good to be a no-reply blogger! Because your last post about things not going so well had really stuck with me and if you'd been an email blogger I probably would have sent you a sweet note saying "You know, you are allowed to choose. You own the blog, it doesn't own you. And life comes first."

I know your wonderful tutorials will be back when you have the time and energy and fewer distractions so you can create them exactly as you like. And we'll be here ready for them.

Meanwhile, you made a very thoughtful comment on my kindness post earlier this week for which I wanted to thank you -- and also say I'm so sorry you had to deal with the situation you described. Now, I'm going to ask you to be kind to yourself and not worry about tutorials for a bit or deadlines unless you want or must or even visiting, though I love it when you come! Just "be." And it will be better.

Sounds like you need a rest after your busy day.
I was surprised to read as well, on how your electricity is still relying on coal. Such a shame not to harness natural resources like wind and sun.
