Hope

I'm once again joining Valerie, this month's host at Art Journal Journey, with a journal page for her theme of light and darkness.

In a dramatic change from yesterday's stark black and white entry, I chose to showcase this entry in a colorful background.

I thought "Hope" deserved color, since it represents such a joyful idea.

In case you can't read it, the sentiment reads "was born in the dark."

When I found this beautiful advertisement in my mailbox, I immediately knew I had to use it.  It represents hope to me, especially after so many negative things have been written since the beginning of November.  I believe it's time to heal, and hope is the catalyst.

I painted a background with various paints and stencils.  I cut the word hope out and added it to the image.  I hope it brings the calm it gave me when I created it.

Thank you again for your wonderful thoughts, comments, and visits.  They are truly appreciated.  And please join me at Art Journal Journey where Valerie's theme is light and darkness.

Wonderful journal page. Love the colours and that you have used 'hope' as your quote. We all need hope after what has happened lately, it gives us something to hang on to. Thanks for another lovely page for Ajj and have a nice Sunday, hugs, Valerie

Where would we be without hope? A rhetorical question really. The background you created is gorgeous, love the fiery reds.

I've no hope at all for political aspects of life right now, but -looking at the larger view- your picture illustrating hope does match how I feel during this season.

Have a hopeful holiday :)

A very moving page , especially with your chosen word. Hope is a word that can mean so much to many folk, something we should all hang on to at all times.
