The colors of autumn
Today I began by getting out my Press and Seal, a great product that protects your pages from spray mists, like my handmade mists.
I decided not to wait to take a photo of this page, because it really looks like splats and drips, the theme this fortnight at Moo-Mania and More.
Once dry, I assembled the papers that I hoped looked like the colors of autumn that Valerie, this month's host of Art Journal Journey, chose as the theme.
A few of the reds and pinks clashed with the oranges and browns, but autumn often has these distinctly unique colors.
I stamped a leaf, but made the mistake of embossing it, at which time I ran into a bit of trouble with the embossing powder flaking away from the candy wrapper.
Regardless of all the problems I had with this entry, I was still quite happy with how it turned out. I used four spray mists for the background, two ribbons, various scrapbook papers, a candy wrapper, and a leaf stamp I embossed with embossing powder.
This place was collecting donations for these Little Libraries that will be donated to various homes in one of the less fortunate areas of the city. I think it's a wonderful idea, and so glad they have done this. I asked and the City has given both approval and their blessing for these libraries.
As an aside, I just learned we have a new one in my neighborhood. I'll have to find it soon.
I watched as these two children played chess on a large board.
Then I got caught up taking pictures of the pieces that were sitting on the tables.
I told Sally I thought this reminded me of a chiminea.
We had reached the food area, which is half way between both ends of the art fair. That means we have seen 1/4 of the show so far. We still have the rest of one side and the entirety of the other side to see.
However, Sally was hungry, so we decided to stop. I bought her lunch. She got the prime rib sandwich and I got the grilled chicken. Not exactly where I would have stopped, but none of the places served vegetarian food, and we had reached the last food tent. It's hell when you live in beef country!
Thanks for joining me today as we work our way through this massive art festival. And don't forget to visit Moo-Mania and More where they are featuring drips and splatters, as well as Art Journal Journey where Valerie's theme is Indian Summer.

Wonderful photos of the ART FAIR again. It must have been really huge. Love the idea of the little libraries. Your page for AJJ is great fun, reminds me of a dark sun on a colourful sky. Thanks for joining us again at AJJ and MM&M, hugs, Valerie
Wow, that was one giant crafts fair. But I love they had some book houses to put in lower income areas. Plus all the cool art you got to see. I like to see other people's art even if I'm not buying. I get ideas which are often better than the piece. And I like your drip and splatter page too. It doesn't matter whether your embossing looks like a leaf but it gives some little texture to the candy wrapper. So good news in my world as the hubby so a dermatologist yesterday about his rash and he has been cleared for surgery. Hopefully we will get a surgery date today so we can move forward. :) Every little good new is good. Have a great day. Hugs-Erika
The craft fair was really huge - gosh! Amazing things to see! A fantastic page Elizabeth - I love that you used a candy wrapper as well!
Thank you Sweetie♥♥♥ for the beautiful entry to the Indian Summer theme!
I can imagine that it is often difficult for vegetarians. I recognized that they surve often something vegetarian here on nearly every place - even on aeroplan- but yes ! You live in the beef land!!! Just difficult for vegans here I guess - if you eat nothing from animals no cheese and milk products then it is nearly impossible to get something here.
But as I eat everything I can always find yummie things ... lucky me!
Wishing you a happy weekend- we shall get warmer again, but I can't belive it just now.. it's grey and extremely cold 43°F just now .. . a week ago we had nearly 80°F.
So chilly - cold and wintery outside !
And wanted to say thank you for joining Drips and Splatters at Moo Mania & More as well!

The page is really beautiful and such a good idea to project opposite pages while you spray away.
More of this terrific art event and great photographs you have taken to share with us Elizabeth
Love Chrissie xx
WOW! I never thought of using press and seal to protect art work. I always learn something new from you *grin* Now I have to go dig mine out of the cabinet in the garage.
I really like your AJJ page, the layout, the colors and all the textures......fantastic.
Your page looks really awesome with the sprayed and dripped background. I have major problems keeping the opposite side of my journal splash free, that sounds a good product to have handy.
Great photos again today from the art show.

Your "Colors of Autumn" is terrific, what a great collage with the colour combinations.
Did you really do this art fair in one day?!!!!! There seemed to be such a lot of top class work and such a varied set of art too. Wonderful.
Love the fairy artist with the feathers and creatures atop the paint brushes. Love the dimension and techniques. That was worth the whole visit, seeing that one! Not to mention all the other fabulous art!
Enjoyed the tour. I think I'd have to go with Sally on the prime rib sandwich...sounds amazing!
