Stars in my eyes

Today I'm visiting Try it on Tuesday where the theme this fortnight is Sun, Moon, and Stars.

This is my first, but hopefully not last, entry for this theme, which I love.

We'll begin on the left side, where I colored both sides of this tiny tag with pigment ink, then added three stars to each side.  I wrote: "You are my sun, moon, and stars" in black ink.  All those lovely stars were sent to me by Valerie, but this is the first time I've had a chance to use them.

Several months ago I created this faux washi tape from tissue paper and double sided tape that was worthless for anything except washi.  Unfortunately, I ran out of the starry tape because I had sent my remaining tissue to a friend.  I created the focal image using pigment ink on glossy card stock, which was a mistake, because it never truly dried, and much of it rubbed off as I was applying the faux washi.

That's when I decided to create a second side showing the stamp I used to its advantage.   I used yellow and red on the sun side, and blue which apparently got contaminated with green on the moon side.  For the sentiment, it was perfect until I smeared it and had to redo it.

I smeared this part of the sentiment less, so left it.

One final look at this entry that began with a piece of painted deli paper glued to my Coll-AH-ge Two altered book substrate, two tags, 11 stars, three not shown, faux washi tape, two Sun, Moon, and Stars images from a rubber stamp (no name, just Santa Rosa, CA, 1999), white pen ink, pop dots, and several sheets of colored card stock.

Now let's head to Try it on Tuesday where you can put some sun, moon, and stars in your life, too.

I love this page spread :) The colors are good for the subject and I love the written messages you've included. It all works so well together in this composition to make a whole. That, for me, is not an easy task.

wonderful theme, and love your handmade starry tape, sorry I missed T day, but looks as if it was rather disappointing to you... not much I could eat, being GF... and ewww to fake whipped cream, it is so easy to make and so delicious.. x

Wonderful spread Elizabeth. If you have embossing powder that would have been one way to seal in that pigment ink on a non-porous surface. But you saved the day and your spread is lovely!
