Autumn leaves
This page, created in my Coll-AH-ge Too altered book, was inspired by Valerie, this month's host at Art Journal Journey. The colors of Indian Summer were used to create this entry.
The background is a wet wipe I got at the grocery store, passed out so we can clean our cart handles or hands after handling food. They are much thinner than baby wipes and dry quickly. I colored it using bits of paint. The leaves were cut from the background left over from yesterday's page I created for Bleubeard.
Originally, I intended to write "Autumn leaves us breathless," but you can tell I didn't leave enough room. I had to come up with a shorter word, so thought a bit of humor was in order.
Thanks go to Valerie's wonderful theme at Art Journal Journey and it's where you'll find me today when I can sneak away from my company. Materials I used include a wet wipe, leaves from a background, a stem cut from two pieces of patterned paper, red paper, lavender paper, and a Micron pen. Thanks for visiting. I appreciate it.
Don't forget it's nearly time to be thinking about your Second on the 2nd. Any post, any genre, any subject matter you want to bring back for a second look is acceptable. Everyone is welcome to participate.

I smiled at the words on your page, which looks wonderful with the background texture.
We don't get wipes with our trolley's in stores here. It is a good idea, when you think of all the germs that can be passed around this way.

I think you sentiment is perfect! After all it does leave us leaves!!
I have ran out of space so many times, I've lost count over the years.
Hard to believe the 2nd is so close...must start thinking now LOL!
Love your piece today Elizabeth. Can you believe it is already time to be thinking of second on the second? Enjoy the tail end of your weekend. Hugs-Erika
Very nice! And fun caption.
Love the colors. I had to think about the Autumn leaves us leaves. Clever:)
Happy Sunday:)
I went back and checked your old Mexican altered book- how cool! I loved seeing it and all the inspiration you used in it. You really captured so many aspects of country. I don't claim to know that much about Mexico, but it felt like a little trip south of the border. :) Hugs-Erika
Ha! Ha! Oh Yes! It gets a bit slippy around here too - but looks so beautiful! I love the colours you have used here and such a great idea to show the leafy stem! Hugs, Chrisx
Autumn does leave us leaves lol, as I have no trees but plenty of fallen leaves covering the patio. Funny :)
I really love the soft colors, Elizabeth. It's a different fall feel and one I like very much.
Thanks for coming by the Gypsy. I know what you mean about confused trees. We still have a TON of green ones, some that are totally bare and a few in between. It's supposed to be windy and rainy tomorrow so I suspect we'll lose a lot.
Happy week! (Can you tell I'm catching up?!)
