Student Council Elections (at AJJ)

Today we are joining Mary (one of the imaginary students at this AJJ school)

as she decides to run for Student Council president.

She even made her own buttons she passed out.

Student elections are important and help students learn about politics at a local level.  Mary's elections are being held today.

Each candidate gave an impassioned speech.  Mary got a standing ovation.

At the end of the day, after all the votes were counted, Mary won by a landslide.

Materials used include various acrylic paints for the background, five 3-D embellishments, and a magazine image.  I created the hand written words using an ink marker on yellow copier/printer paper.

Bleubeard and I are delighted you joined us today to watch these student council elections, and at Art Journal Journey where we're celebrating all things Back to School.

Mary gets top marks for her campaign, so does Elizabeth for her journalistic effort of telling us all about it! Have a lovely day, and thanks for all you are doing for AJJ! Susi and I were thinking of you yesterday when we took our photos in front of the rusty sculptures at the castle ruins! Hugs from Valerie and Susi

This page is full of all the energy that a student council election has. Its fun and made me smile this morning. I think the fun thing about your topic for the this challenge is that we all have such strong school memories that are all the similar enough to recognize as school but are all different too, depending on when and where we went to school. Have a great Friday. Hugs-Erika

A great, full of movement and colour journal page. Mary must be a popular girl with her fellow students. I am learning new things about your education system in the USA with this fantastic theme.
