Honoring the art teacher

Today our Back to School Art Journal Journey studies take us to the art room where we are honoring the art teacher.

I laid down the top ply of a three-ply napkin after I found a few words that seemed appropriate.  Not being a person who likes to use an X-acto knife, I bit the bullet and got mine out.  Surprisingly, all my fingers and toes are still here, and I didn't bleed on the napkin, either.

I love how the cat is so well drawn, while the dog is a stick figure like something I might draw.  It's definitely true a degree is required to be ANY teacher, much less an art teacher.

I didn't have to paint anything today, but my paint brush is always at the ready to create a background or two.

Materials used include two different, but surprisingly coordinated napkins which became the backgrounds for this spread.  I used cards from the game of Life and the square cards were from another game (?) I found in my stash.

It was so good of you to join Bleubeard and me today as we honored and welcomed the art teacher "Back to School," our theme at Art Journal Journey.

Love this Elizabeth! My art teacher was so good - fortunately my boys also had good art teachers and 2 of them went on to get degrees in Art and Design! Hugs, Chrisx

Loving these colors! First thing in this morning I need those colors. I wish the art teachers at our school were actually nice. I had a little run in with one the other afternoon. I should say its not they aren't decent people but they just are complainers. You would think someone who teaches something so fun would enjoy their jobs more? Oh well, enough from me. Have a great Wednesday. Hugs-Erika

Wonderful journal page, I'm glad you're honouring art teachers! Good that you didn't cut yourself either, I am not good with knives or hot glue guns either! Susi is on her way home, it was such a lovely week, I will miss her.
Thanks for all you are doing for AJJ! Hugs, Valerie

I like your use of the game cards! And I'm impressed at those tiny, tiny words cut with an X-acto knife. Yikes, that's tricky.

Such a fun page Elizabeth -- school hold tons of memories for us all. My granddaughter has had several years of art in school and she is really good.
Once again, such a fun page with lots of color!
