ICADs for week 9 and a final wrap-up

The ICAD challenge is over for another year and, once again, I have survived.

"By Air"  (July 25, 2016)  I found these really old air mail postage stamp images in a book on postage and the idea was conceived.  I just added a few scraps to the mix and sewed everything together.

"Welcome to the 70s"  (July 26, 2016)  If I could throw one index card away, it would be this one.  I found this ad in a 1976 magazine.  It would have possibly been better had I used something other than a thick tipped marker.

"Bleubeard's Bad Dream"   (July 27, 2016)  I had been sitting next to Bleubeard when he started twitching, moving his ears, legs, and tail.  I could tell he was in REM sleep and more than likely dreaming.  That's what prompted this IC I created using some rubber stamps depicting Bleubeard's dream state.

"To love and be loved"  (July 28, 2016)  I was drawn to this sampler because of the birds.

"Ancestors"  (July 29, 2016)  I was trying to mix up my cards when I found these old images in a book.

"Two hearts, three triangles"  (July 30, 2016)  It took me to the penultimate day to drag out the paints and inks for this feeble attempt at doodles inspired by my dear friend Cindy at Pink Bird Studio.

And because the mosaic maker I use doesn't divide 31 days evenly, here are the 30 days of ICADs leading up to the final one.  Feel free to enlarge for better detail.

"2016 ICAD OBJECTIVES"  (July 31, 2016)  As I do every year, I wrap up the summer ICADs with what I've learned or accomplished over the summer.

And here's a look back at June.

Thanks go to Tammy at Daisy Yellow who started this project six years ago.   Once this post goes live, I will also add these 61 ICADs to my Previous Collaborations page.  Feel free to check it out, because it shows every collaboration since 2009 I've participated in or been honored by.

I love all the imagination that you put into your creations and I can see many ways to use your ideas, but . . . I have no idea what ICAD stands for . . . please educate me :)

You put a lot of work into your ICADS, and I love how different and varied they are, and the old magazine snippets and the sewing. Great job Elizabeth!
It's my bed time here, so I wish you good night! Hugs, Valerie

It was good to see all your fantastic Icads together, so much detail in everyone of them.
I loved the ones you added today, especially Bleubeard's dream, our pets sure get mobile when in a deep sleep. Megs makes us smile and wonder what she dreams of as well.

What a delight to see your ICAD mosaics E!
The stitching on your cards always makes me itchy to sew something.
Hoping when the dust settles here I'll be able to set up my machine again.
The card you said you could part with ;-) actually really caught my eye. That little girl in her pigtails is so sweet.
Great use of the vintage stamp images in your "by air" ICAD.
Happy August (I almost said July...can't believe it's August already!)

Love the collage you've made with your 30 day challenge work. Love those black and white images, the people look so different from today's photos.
Very pretty Elizabeth.

I really love those red buttons. I would have thought they were real buttonss if they weren't stitched through! As always I enjoy all of you stitched pieces. I'm glad you received my postcard - speaking of stitching! - that woman's art is amazing. I would have liked to buy the original but it was in a glass frame and I don't know how I would have safely got it back to London, never mind Canada! I hope Bleubeard was dreaming of chasing mice instead of flying cars, but I did really like that card. I thought the concept was great. Glad to see you finally got your paints out - I like the stripes of colour and your doodles, and thanks for linking to my blog. Also what a great idea to do a 'recap' card! I can't believe ICAD is over. I may try to keep it going a bit longer, given I have limited time and space and it seemed to work quite well for me. It's not like I can work on a canvas here! If I keep going until I leave for home I will have almost 120 cards, plus my 'bonus' cards. I'm setting them in a book of black paper - I did that with my first year, and then didn't do it last year and my cards are scattered around in suitcases and probably at home in Canada too. I wanted to mention too I read your post on the little free libraries. What a great idea. Will try to keep in touch now ICAD is over - heading home likely on 23 September. I will have a new address, but my old one will be forwarded for awhile. I'll let you know.
