T Stands For Spice Merchant, part 2

Today we're returning to The Spice Merchant as promised.

I wandered through the store while my friend Sally

shopped for spices.  This is where they are all kept.  Since I was interested in the teas, a lady told me she would take me to where they were now being kept.   As a result, she nearly pulled me away before I could get anymore photos, because this was just a small portion of the jars that were available.  When I looked for the rest of the spice photos, I realized this was the only one I had taken, so I should have asked the lady to wait while I took a few more photos in this area where Sally spent every bit of her time.

One thing I did manage to get was this tea towel with the blueprint of a wine glass.  I really like this and it reminds me of a certain "unnamed" stamper who creates stamps that look a bit like this.

Since this was all the spice photos, I decided to ask Sally to photograph the spices she purchased.  Granted, I didn't move the container to a "better" spot, because there are no better spots in her house.

You can see the ones the person weighed for Sally,

and the ones that were already weighed and packaged.  However, I couldn't get a good shot, so switched on the light in her kitchen

and although you can read the labels much better, no amount of adjusting the photos in PS took the ugly yellow tint away.

What was so sad was, I had just given Sally some fresh rosemary from my garden the day before.

She told me she spent about $40.00 and I believe it, because I didn't photograph everything in the basket.  At least it gives you an idea what spices they sell at The Spice Merchant.

Now it's time for you to share your T post, too.  It can be anything drink related as long as there is a drink involved in some way.  That means it could be a movie, a photo, a postcard, a painting, a page in a book, traditional, hybrid, or digital art, or simply a cup or mug of any drink, including wine like the tea towel shown above.  Please include your direct link only, not your entire blog, because some people don't always make it till late Tuesday in their world and get discouraged when they have to scroll down to find your tea post.

Since this is the last Tuesday in June (can it really be possible?), I want to remind everyone to look through your previous posts for one you want to bring back for a second look on the 2nd.  Any post is acceptable, no matter how long or how short.  I hope you'll want to join us for a second look, and your own second post, too.

I would love to spend a couple of hours looking round that Spice shop, and Sally certainly bought a wonderful selection of fine spices and flavourings, my mouth was watering just looking at all the mixtures. We have a stall at the Tuesday market where they also have a great variety of spices, I always have a sniff round there! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

What a fascinating store, I'm not surprised Sally was so tempted.
I didnt realise wine glasses had blueprints, although of course everything has to be designed before it is made.
Happy T-day to you, Elizabeth, and to everyone else who reads this.

Enjoyed more of my little shopping trip to the Spice Market, and what a cool trip it was this time. That is quite the store Elizabeth. Can't wait to see the tea section next week. But if this store has 3 weeks worth of posts it must be pretty large and pretty full. I wonder if that no named designer did this towel design or if its a knock off, or if that designer took the idea from someone else's design like this one and ran with it. HMMM. Happy T day! Hugs-Erika

I would still be there drooling over all of the goodies :) Love going into shops like that :)

Well if that shop was close to me, I would most surely be a regular customer. It was good to see that you could buy in quantities to suit your needs. Could you buy like that in the tea section? You can tell I am in anticipation of next week already.
Happy Tuesday

It's a good thing that shop is nowhere near here. I'd be in there all the time spending my money. I am intrigued by the bread dipping herbs.... I've never heard of that.
40 Dollars is a lot of money for a few herbs though. They should not cost any more than 1 or 2 Dollars each bag. She must have bought loads! Things like bay leaves and rosemary grow wild outside the urban area and in people's gardens in a city. (She probably had forgotten you had given her the rosemary).
The towel is amazing! Never seen anything like it. Yes, a certain stamp designer gets his inspiration from industry, plus that blueprints have become fashionable it seems. But I would have bought that straight away. Per haps an extra one to give as a present. ( I have a few people in mind...)
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Sally is all set to cook anything that calls for spices isn't she? I have an idea for her. I was buying some pint Ball jars for jam making and discovered they now sell little plastic lids that have a shaker top, holes with a snap lid, that fit the jars. Since we buy spices in bulk and store them in various jars I thought the shaker lids might be handy. Two to a pack. I bought one pack to see how they work.

Elizabeth, re yesterday's post - no I'm not making a pillow. Stay tuned, I'll show the project when I get going on it.

Again I have to say how wonderful that place looks...the variety is amazing. Yes it is sad that you'd just given her fresh rosemary and she goes and buys the dried.
That tea towel is fun! What a clever design.
Happy T day my friend.

Nice variety of spices. I would also think the fresh rosemary would be better than the dried one.
I also have rosemary in my garden, as well as bay leaves, and a few other herbs.

speaking of spice...my lovely, amazing, gorgeous cloves-scented package arrived today!! I had 'forgotten' about your warning, until I opened the package...but the aroma is not too strong at all. you've really outdone yourself, and sent too many pages! but I DO love them, and you've interpreted the theme so well. love all the stitching! just wow...

sorry I couldn't join the party today, had another obligation which had me leaving very early, and pretty tired by the time I got home.

thank you too, for the flower stickers. I think you will be seeing them in my Techo! hugs dear friend, thanks so much!

Yikes!!! Those prices!!! So much cheaper than here in SF. people say we have one of the highest costs of living in the US and I believe it (for many reasons). I want those spices -- and the tea too. Hummmmm do they have a website?

I can imagine that this place smells just incredible! I love that tea towel -- I would have bought it, too! And probably half the rest of the store!

Better late than never? I see you've already added my link. I may be a couple of days late visiting folks as we have a family member under-going a medical procedure tomorrow that may keep me offline for a bit.

I want to try that bread-dipping spice. That's intriguing, and I'd love to visit this shop. I bet the smell is indeed delicious! :)

That's alot of spices. Looks like a good shop. That dried rosemary looks pretty old, and I am sure your fresh was ever so much better. Ah well....hope you got some nice teas. xox

Better late than never...it seems like it's been a long awful week of computer frustrations but I'm back.
Glad you haven't removed the Mr Linky links so I can get around to visit everyone. Luckily I had my Eze T post all ready and managed to add the last sentence before our computer turned totally impossible to deal with.
Sorry enough complaining.
The spice shop and your photos look great.
I think I would enjoy the smell there as food and natural smells can be so tantilizing.
Fresh herbs are a real treat straight from the garden but dried spices do have their place too don't they.
Hope you're having a nice long weekend E.
I see I've missed lots of posts.
