In the heart of winter's wonderland
It's time again to join Art Journal Journey where our host Chrissie chose "Winter Wonderland" as the theme for January. I'm also joining Moo-Mania and More, whose theme is "Anything Goes." I believe I'm getting in just under the wire with this one.
I created this page in my Coll-AH-ge Too altered book.
I love sheet music, and vintage sheet music is even better. Although it has nothing to do with the actual theme, I couldn't resist using it.
I found this ski scene and knew it was the perfect insert for the heart.
I began by adding the sheet music to the altered book page, then cut a heart template that I laid over the winter scene. When I got the scene where I thought it looked best, I cut the heart using the template. I realized after I added it, that it didn't show up like I thought it should, so I drew around the heart using a sharpie. The words were computer generated, then I added a bit of brown ink (that looks red on my monitor) around the words.
Please visit both Art Journal Journey and Moo-Mania and More because the artists who have participated in these challenges are fantastic.
Thanks, too, for joining me today in the heart of winter's wonderland.

This is lovely, my friend!I wish I could be skiing instead of sweating right now!Beautiful artwork!

Great ideas on this beautiful page. I am just watching Ski Sunday on television so very appropriate for me.
Thank you for joining us again at Art Journal Journey
Love Chrissie xx
This page is fabulous Elizabeth! I have always wanted to ski but I guess it's too late now - all I would do is grump about the cold!! What a clever quote to go with the heart shaped photo too! The outlining really makes it stand out! Hugs, Chrisx
Wow.. this is stunning.. love the heart-shape and the quote fits perfectly to the collage! Great work Elizabeth!
Thanks a lot for joining Moo Mania & More as well as Art Journal Journey so often this month/fortnight---

Going to be just now ....
I wish you a nice rest of this Sunday!
Nicely done! I wish I could downhill ski...looks like fun.
I've got another AJJ winter theme floating around in my head. It's just hard to go create in the cold...frigid...basement right now. Esp when creating something winter theme!! ;)
This skier looks like a die hard skier for some reason and I bet he is singing (if not out loud in his heart) about the cold snowy weather. I don't understand these die hard skiers, but I guess they might not understand my fun either. Hugs and hope your week starts off in a good way!
Love the shaped heart and skier, against the music background . Its a fantastic page and words.

Pretty page, Elizabeth! :)
I had a 90's version of Print shop. I used to use it for making resources for school. About 3 years ago I bought Print Shop 2. I have never tried Photoshop - although I know it is more versatile! No snow here - colder though! Hope you are getting better weather now! Chrisx
Nicely done Elizabeth :) It's bitter cold here again today and the wet now from Saturday is crunchy and hard. Treacherous walking for sure.
Great page, Elizabeth. I always this music is so lovely to work with in altered pieces. The heart and music seem to be connected and of course the 'musical beat' of skiing down at hill. hugs, Donna
If I was able to ski, like the person in the photo, I'd be singing my head off......LOL
I think it is a fantastic page.
Your collage page is lovely Elizabeth.Happy Monday
Hearts and snow and your ski guy all speak to me so sweetly along with your sheet music background E.
I just got off the phone a bit ago talking to our son who lives in CO.
He was returning home after a nice long weekend of snowboarding with a group of college friends. He lives for Pow as he calls freshly fallen snowfall :-)
Still no signs of snow here in VA.

oh to answer your question about the tree punch. It is by EK Success from their Paper Shapers line. It measures about 2". Not sure if it is still in stores as I am not sure how long I've had it. I have been playing with assorted punches lately as I was going thru my stash and clearing out a bit.
wonderful page Elizabeth!!
Nice page with your winter heart, funny idea! And the music sings the winter song. :)
Dear greetings
Sabine
love this page. I like using music sheets for background as well and have so many of them to use up. This has inspired me to pull them out for future journal pages.
