It's time once again to join
Annie at
A Stitch in Time for Friday Smiles, where we get a jump on the weekend with a smile.
Recently I tried to introduce Squiggles to his new bed that my friend Sally gave him for Christmas. While Bleubeard kept a sleepy eye on me, I grabbed my camera. After over 60 (yes, SIX-OH) photos of Squiggles, this was as close to the bed as he ever got. His cute white paw was more interested in playing with the lens cap that's attached to my camera.
Thinking he might feel comfortable near his scratching pad and box he often plays in, I learned that no matter what I tried, this cat did NOT like the new bed. Not sure I'm smiling (except at my beloved Bleubeard), but I bet this
tail tale puts a smile on YOUR face, even if cats aren't your thing.
Let's join
Annie for a welcoming smile to start off the weekend in a positive way.

Happy Friday Elizabeth...smiling as I can also relate to a new cat bed being unwelcome - none of the four who live in this house interested, would rather settle on a shopping catalogue, piece of cardboard, hubbys laptop bag etc but not a nice comfy warm bed. Have a fab weekend Robyn
Squiggles sure made me smile Elizabeth. These pets of ours sure have minds of their own don't they? Our little old dog is refusing to sleep in our new kitchen as yet....we are buying him a new bed soon so are hoping that does the trick but will let you know lol.
Hugs,
Annie x
Haha they will do their own thing won't they. I've lost count of money wasted on unplayed with toys, blankets, treats, car accessories etc over the years. Still we wouldn't be without the little loves would we

Awww bless. Lovely photos of your two fur babies and I love the look of concentration on Squiggles' face.
I wonder if you could let me have your addie please. I brought you a little something back from Prague and I would like to post it to you. hettiecraft at gmail dot com

Hi Elizabeth and thanks for the visit. Will try to find you something veggie for the next photo. I wonder if you rub something of his over the new bed so he get's a whiff of his own smell if that would do the trick? Cats just do what they want there is no persuading them I think. Happy Friday, Angela x
Oh yes, we cat owners know that once a cat makes its mind up about something, they are very hard to budge. Have you tried putting other bedding with Squiggles' smells on it, into the new bed. They don't like the smell of new things.
That's 2 cat stories this week.Wonder if anyone else has posted about their cat?
Being a dog person I don't know too much about cats although my best friend's Freddy certainly knows his own mind. What a shame little Squiggles doesn't like his lovely new bed. He looks a lovely boy. The photos are sweet. Barbxx
I understand the whole new bed scenario. We had to resort to putting one of my husband's old t-shirts in the new bed and now our kitty uses it.
Bleubeard and Sqiggles! Long time no see guys. Love the pics E! Baby and T were so excited to see them. It's a lovely new bed maybe put an old towel in it for awhile. Or put it in a big box, that's what I do for the girls. Thanks for sharing the pics. Hugs to you, Bleubeard and the Squigs from me, T and Baby. p.s. Baby thinks Squiggles is the perfect size. ;)
Love the photos! Cats have a mind of their own. I used to have a duffle coat with a fur lined hood, and my Kitty always climbed up the coat and snuggled into the hood! Have a lovely day dear! Hugs, Valerie
Thanks for the Friday smile.
ALL animals have a mind of their own.....LOL
awe, thank you (and Bleubeard and Squiggles) for the smile of the day!
Isn't it always the way. Either they won't use it or they eat it. At least in my house anyway. xox
Elizabeth, it is a case of "You can take a horse to water....) isn't it? If they decide they don't like it, then nothing will persuade them. Our big dog doesn't like the big bed, so he pushed Foxy out of her little one and curls up in it, and Foxy has to feel a bit lost in the big one! It's partly her fault for not sticking up for herself! I love the way Bluebeard has one eye on you throughout the proceedings. They don't miss much do they. Have a good week. Kate x
What a sweet kitty greeting for me when I got home :)
We've been on a little vacation in a spot that apparently is the black hole of internet access and cell phone coverage, which is why I didn't link up for T Tuesday. I'm sorry I missed it, but we had fun in the woods :)
I have two cats (Harley & LuLu) and between them they have three cat beds. They seem to rotate between loving them and ignoring them. Right now one bed seems to be off limits for some reason. I just leave them where they are and sooner or later the cats discover them again. One of the beds has a pocket underneath where I can put catnip if I desire. I haven't tried that yet.
Squiggles is gorgeous. Love the white chest and paws. Mine like to sit in my chair and as soon as i settle into a different one, there is a cat trying to get inthe one I am in. They are such a joy.
He may change his mind. Cats often reject new beds. I often wonder if they don't have a chemical smell or something at first that needs to dissipate. But he might change his mind later on. :)
Look at those two cuties! They are so sweet! Thank you for sharing them with us. You mention Google Plus and leaving comments the other day. I think I might be one of the people you mentioned. I don't know why Google Plus is doing that. I don't even use Google Plus. Google made using Google Plus mandatory if you wanted to leave comments on YouTube. I created a profile and forgot all about it. I always agree on your assessments with Google. I wish Google Plus would go away. :) I am still going to start a blog. I am just getting my home organized this month. I don't think that makes interesting blog reading.
That expression on Bleubeard's photos is like he is thinking that introducing Squiggles to the new bed again is just not going to work at all! Too bad about the bed- but those kitties are so cute! Makes me miss mine even more. I think its time for me to adopt a new meoweeee.
Hi Elizabeth, Bleubeard and Squiggles, there's no reasoning with cats. They do exactly what they want to do, and in their own good time, and don't I know it :) I've learned to just let Bonnie go her own way. Squiggles will probably come round eventually. Elizabeth xx
