I found calendars as far back as 2001, and probably would have found more had I looked harder. However, I thought the page had enough calendar pages on it, so left it the way it was.
I began by coloring the background using a metallic silver acrylic paint. While that was drying, I sprayed two gifted die cuts and allowed them to dry. The colors were too subtle for my taste, but after spraying them three times, I gave up, and added a silver outline using a Krylon Silver Leafing Pen. I added the word "THEN," but the T bled an oily residue from the pen onto the cardstock, often a problem I've found when trying to write words with that pen (as well as the copper and gold ones).
I raised the "NOW" slightly, thinking I should have added an "AND" between the two words.
The only other decorations I used besides the die cuts, were the flowers that looked like springtime, rather than September. At least, my journal page represents many years and various months.
One final overall view shows the silver background I painted onto my used file folder substrate. I used several calendar pages, many from previous years, to which I added spring tulip stickers in various sizes.
It appears that Mr. Linky is back (hopefully, as Chelle put it), so this is NOT the only place you can see my Journal 52 calendar entry this week. Regardless, I appreciate your visit and your always generous and thought provoking comments.

Great fun with all the calenders and the little blue flowers.
I always enjoy reading about your artistic low-tech methods and the way you describe how you make your art pieces.
Great collage. NOW is good. xox
Ok, I have "My Little Calendar Girl" running through my head....LOL
I've had problems with those metallic markers too, rarely use them anymore they are such a problem. They may have dried up by now.
A fantastic calender page, it is a great selection of years. like how you kept adding number 38.

Happy Sunday! Great job on all the calendar's you used here, nice size mix too. Pretty background to go with them.
Hope your weekend is going well. Ours is good, a bit colder and flying by of course. I just posted my T Day post. If you can link it up for me that would help, if not no worries I will get to it on Tuesday. Thank you!!!
Take care and see you Tuesday :)
Love your calendar page, and I'm glad you explained the 38, I was thinking you had applied for a few extra days to get all the work done! Have a lovely day, hugs, Valerie
Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for coming over to say hi! I love your calendar, so pretty! PS, high-jack post......Even though ICAD is over, I'm still going to make them until the pack of index cards is finished, plus it keeps me inspired to use up old supplies. Oh and don't worry about coming over right away, I understand! Have a glorious and creative day my friend!
