WOYWW 324: the one where she responds to comments

I'm joining our beloved leader and head desker Julia for Week 324 of this fun Wednesday romp.  I had intended to play last week, but I got a call late last Tuesday from my friend Kathy, who said she was coming to visit me early Wednesday morning.  I knew I would never get up if I stayed up all night like I normally do.

Julia commented she liked the view out my window where she could see the peacock chair on my front porch.  I actually have two of them and they sit in front of my craft room.  Note one of several rocking horses you'll see this week.

I can also see this beauty from my craft room window.  It's been on my front porch since I moved here in 1991.

The inside view looking out is pleasant as long as the glare from the street isn't blinding my eyes.  Note the various rocking horses that live on my window sill.  And yes, Julia, cleaning the blinds is often a chore.

Going straight to my table, I have some rusty parts I've just coated with matte sealer.  I want them safe to handle now that they are no longer required for fabric rusting.  The heavy plate in back accidentally rusted after my friend and neighbor Sally gave it to me, and it was left out in the rain.  I got as much rust off as I could, then sealed it so it wouldn't rust any further.  I plan to use it when I stamp metals.  It's completely flat on the back and very heavy.

Of course, I know you wanted to see yet another rocking horse this week.

Several comments were made about the small dresser on my work bench.  It started life as a night stand that matches the dresser that now holds art and postage supplies.

These drawers hold rick rack, binding,

bits of lace, and fancy fibers I use in my mixed media art and sewing projects.  This is one area I have not purged or sorted.  Seems when I get something, usually at the thrift store, I jam it into whatever drawer it will fit in.  I guess I need help, because this is starting to look overwhelming and I am starting to feel like a hoarder!

Sorry I was so wordy this week, but I'm responding to comments that were left two weeks ago.  Don't forget, you'll find Julia at Stamping Ground.  If coming from there, please leave your number.

Seeing your workroom made me think of my own which I have only passed through over the last couple of months with one thing or another. I think it's time to take stock of my time management and get back in there.
Isn't it funny how we have a thing for rust. I love it
Enjoy your week

I have Porch Envy!! Lol. It's something I've always wanted....we sit outside on out patio every day, if the weather allows. I'm an outside sort of gal...but a porch is my idea of heaven. Daft, eh?
Thanks for the tour of your drawers and workspace, it's so good to get to know someone even better!!

I am in love with your porch, and that adorable little rocking horse - how wonderful to sit and look out at that from your workroom - I definitely have porch envy! I have also ALWAYS wanted one of those beautiful wicker chairs ever since I was a kid in the seventies and saw a picture of Marie Osmond sitting on one!! Perhaps one day!
Hope you have a good week and thanks for showing such delightful little corners of your home - I've thoroughly enjoyed the 'nose' today!

The drawers are OK, you just need to use some more rather than purge them! How lovely to sit and chat with company on the porch in a big old peacock chair. Am sure most of us Brits will comment on a porch; architecture, climate and space have long since rid of us of such delights! I'm loving the porch rocker horse too...he's a good all weather specimen!

I love your porch. Much cosier than a terrace. And those rocking horses are great. I gather you collect them!
Thank you for the little nosey in your craft room and a peep in the drawer. Drawers will always be like that as long as they still close. When they don't close anymore then it's time to do something about it. (in my house anyways).
Thank you for visiting already,
Have a great week,

Girl you have those babies everywhere! What a great space you have to work in...mine needs to be cleaned from top to bottom and I've been putting it off but the time is quickly coming when I must wade in and get it done!

That porch is made for sitting with a nice cool drink. Gaffa tape and duct tape are pretty similar I think. Have a lovely woyww week.

Lovely visit. Wish I could just flop into one of those chairs for a cuppa and a natter. In the sunshine - we had the shortest "summer" here in a long time. Never even dragged out the shorts and only went sleeveless on and off for a week! Shocking.

LOL! to your comment on my "math" - I am challenged for sure but if I work thru it again I'll send it to you so you can point out the flaws in my logic.

Love ALLLL the horses, btw. They always lift my spirits and this week, we all need that, I think.

glad to be back... finally!

Well, as good as it is to see your drawers full of stuff I think your 'rocking horse double' stole the scene today. Love your porch and your peacock chairs but I am still drawn to the rocking horses. My friend in America has a porch and I just love to sit on it when I am over there. Great in the evenings when the sun has warmed the area up and I can watch the beautiful sunsets.
Hugs to you all (and special hugs to Bleubeard as always) Neet 22 xx

Wonderful chairs and horses on your porch! I have an old dresser in my crafty corner that's full of my supplies--I like it better than the plastic drawer unit I have used to have there. Have a good week! Sandy Leigh #40

I loved visiting your porch. It looks like a nice play to hang out and relax at, plus such a lovely view from your desk (street glare notwithstanding). So many things to look at and see. I have a nightstand/mini dresser in my closet filled with... probably useless things. Hubby and I are planning to move early next year and most likely I won't be crafting with my dining table right behind anymore, so where to put the paper cutter? I think you just answered that question for me! I have that little dresser I can use and it has the added bonus of drawers I can fill with useful and crafty things. Seriously, now I want to know just what are in those drawers??? I know the top one holds my sewing box but that's just one thing. Hmmm...... Have a great day! Judy #51

Purging does wonders as you realize all the goodies you stowed away, and helps you to feel not so out of control. It really is hard but I discovered my creativity flourished when I had less to choose from. But I look at your creative space and it is so organized! Do love those peacock chairs. Diane #44

I love your porch! Between the wind, cold and snow; I have temporary chairs on ours; they have a very short life! And thanks for the rummage of your drawers; I think they look very tidy.

Woah.....ribbon hoarder alert!!!! Will we see you on the "Hoarders" TV series? ;-)

I personally think ribbon (and come to that fabric and stamps) seem to self replicate...you buy a small amount and 'suddenly'...poof....a boxful, then poof....a drawer full.....at least that is what I tell my hubby!!

Thanks for visiting my desk already

Lovely rocking horses. The fun of a drawer of bits and pieces is rummaging until something strikes your fancy : D. What I sent wasn't so much a package as a fat card lol (requiring 71 cents postage), but no tracking number since it was a first class thing. It hasn't come back, so here's hoping it's just taking the scenic route.
