For Week 11 at Journal 52, Chelle wants us to just write. Not my favorite prompt, but I will make the most of it as long as my hands hold out. Chelle said not to worry about our handwriting. I used to have good handwriting, but after my arthritis got bad, it went to pot. She also used a blocking technique, so I tried to follow that.
This is my contribution for this week, and I'll walk you through how I made it.
I started with one of my used file folders, several of my handmade spray mists, and my new pens I bought yesterday.
Although some of the blocking was a bit iffy, I was happy with the way the mists shimmered on my table. Next, it was time to add the blocks.
I was a bit disgusted with myself because I checked very carefully that I had positioned the typing in the correct spot. However, when I placed the file folder in the printer, it grabbed the folder before it was in place, causing the typing to print in the wrong position. Still, it saved me a lot of writing, so I'm not terribly upset.
I know many of my internet friends like to draw, doodle, and write. I type. I try not to write if I don't have to.
I used every new pen I bought yesterday and I explained what a great deal I got on them. As an aside, the sale is on through Sunday if you get their coupons. I'm not sure how long the 50% sale is, but it included all pens. So, if you live in the States, you might want to head to JoAnn's for a really good sale.
By using every pen, I was able to see how each one worked on the different backgrounds I created. Unlike Chelle, I didn't add paint, or gesso to my file folder.
I always try to find a place to share the week number, but this week, I wrote it out.
One final look and I'm calling this one finished.
Thanks for visiting. I always appreciate your visits and your lovely comments. They truly keep me going.

Very cool, E! You managed a good bit of writing too! A lot more than I could muster. I too prefer to type when the fingers work that it is. :) Hoping the hands will hold a steering wheel so I can get out today. I want to pick up some elmers glue! Dying to try your mist recipe. TTFN the Girls are sunbathing but send Hello and Hugs. Hugs from me too.
Well done Miss Elizabeth!
Your handwriting looks fab..
but I once read that nobody likes his own handwriting...
Happy Saturday!
This is not one of my favorite prompts either, but will eventually tackle it this week, maybe even today.
You did a bang up job of getting this prompt finished and it looks fantastic......really it does!
Wow! Great way to attack this prompt! The color block arrangement is really neat & I had no idea that you actually put the file folder through your printer!
Fabulous page Elizabeth, i like the printing slightly out, adds character :-) xxx
Well I think your hand writing is still good and more than 'acceptable' by any standards. I love your blocking, it's a great idea. I must use it one time.
What font did you use for the typing Elizabeth, it is really very nice :o))
Great job! You are really doing well keeping up. I am 2 1/2 months behind--ROFL! ;)
I think your effort was brilliant and I can read every word so that in itself means you were successful. I think keyboard work has made all our handwriting suffer and now I have the start of arthritis in my hands I can fully understand some of what you go through! Lovely post, love the blocked sections.
i must remind this way of block writing, really gives interest!
have a great sunday, elizabeth!
Love this, such lovely colours and shimmer! My writing varies from shopping list(usually hurried and really untidy), Birthday cards(legible) and anything in between those two! Hugs, Chrisx
