T Stands For Auntie Mae's (again)

Thanks for joining me today for T.  My friend Sally insisted I get out of the house.  She thought I should try to see if leaving the house was what was causing me to relapse.  I'm not sure, but I was willing to give it a try, especially because I wanted a decent meal, especially one I didn't have to fix myself.

So we headed to Auntie Mae's Cafe,

where I had taken a plethora of photos the last time we went.

I started out OK, then lost interest, even though I had planned to take photos of their gift shop while we waited on our order.

Even though it was lunch time, we both opted for breakfasts

because nothing else sounded better to me.  I remembered the huge pancake I got the last time with a breakfast order, so talked Sally into getting the same thing, a wonderful veggie and cheese "scramble."

After our water came, I had to use the restroom, but there was a line.

By the time I returned, the food was already on the table.  Sally opted to add the nasty fake butter to her pancake, but I decided I would only add the "breakfast syrup" they provided.  Note how the potatoes were served under the "scramble."  Sally was disappointed, because she likes to keep her food separate.

I only ate a little of my scramble, but most of my pancake.  I got two to-go boxes and was trying to get the pancake into the box, when Sally suggested I take a photo of the mess I was making.  After she removed the cap from my camera lens,

I showed the mess I had made getting this into the box.  That plate was heavy and I was weak.  And because Sally was ready to go, I didn't get a chance to take any more photos.

Now it's your turn to share your T day experience.  Were you out and about, did you make some lovely art, whether it was traditional, hybrid, or digital?  Did you take lots of photos and let them do your talking, or were words more important this week?  Regardless, please share with us and we'll be by to visit.  Bleubeard wants to remind you that your photos can be taken any time, not just on Tuesday.

I think your meal looked very appetising Elizabeth. I do hope it helped you to feel better than you have been of late. ((hugs)) :o)

Elizabeth I think you need a real pick me up. Do I have to come and visit to get you back in the swing of things. Seriously I can be a riot of laughter most of the time. I would not have eaten that pancake after putting it in the box and I am with your friend I like my food separate, although it did look yummy.

Right, so that's it then….Eliza and I over to yours! This sounds as though it was a set back to your recovery! I would have opted for the breakfast too! I do hope you are feeling better soon! Big Hugs, Chrisx

Sorry to hear you're still not completely well and are unable to enjoy your food. However, that looks like a huge portion so I hope you were able to enjoy the leftovers. Hope by next week you're in great shape again!

It all looked very nice.... before you put in the take out box... the portions seem pretty huge. Hope your trip out made you feel better and at least you didn't have to cook. I know when I had the bug and was about 4 weeks in I spent a morning shovelling snow from the driveway... Chris thought I was crazy but I felt so much better out in the cold fresh air working up a sweat.

Those pancakes look delicious. I realize recently that you are the same Elizabeth that my friend, Theresa P visited a few years ago. I believe you made some lovely clay pieces together.

Since I feel like I have not been out of the house in weeks (not quite) I enjoyed the visit to Auntie Mae's again! The prices seem quite reasonable and the portions pretty big. I'm with Sally--I like my food separate! My DH laughs at me and says, "but it's all going the same place!"

I hope you start to get your strength back soon. It is no fun to feel weak.

Thanks for hosting today even though I'm sure you would rather be sleeping!

Hello and Happy T Day! Sorry your still not feeling 100%, hope you get to a doctor soon.
I love getting breakfast anytime of day, especially pancakes.
I agree with Sally, not a fan of all my food piled on top of each other.
Sending hugs and get well wishes. Will come by later and check out the posts below.

Thanks for your visit and Rich said the same thing you did, what will we do when it's just two of us in this house. I told the kids I will pay them to visit often, lol. Rich said I will make you pancakes anytime you come over.
Take care xo

Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out, and Auntie Mae's looks like my kind of place, too. Those are enormous servings! Looks delish. Certainly hope you regain your strength soon. Being sick sure cramps our style!

well maybe you did make a mess ;) but I love to have pancakes for lunch...and even better at a restaurant. then I don't have all the mess in my kitchen to clean up! they still look yummy to me, even going into the box! I admire the way you devotedly take along your camera to take photos on these outings too...thanks for taking us along! :)

Did you find out if being out made you relapse? You sounded quite tired and weak yet. I like my foods separate, too--LOL! But that wouldn't have stopped me from eating it. ;) Hope you get to feeling much better this week.

So sorry to hear you are not feeling A1. I always opt for breakfast when I am on the road to recovery. Though it would have to be bacon somewhere. Those pancakes look huge.
Sending hugs

Sorry to hear that you are not rebounding well at all. The bugs this winter do seem to be extra nasty and of long life. Sending you all of the healing thoughts I can muster. I'm running late today because my internet service is supper slow and wonky today. It must be under the weather too :(

I like a good afternoon tea and will be having one at the end of the week with my mum and aunties at a local heritage centre. I'll be sure to take some pics.
In the meantime I've posted my best China used on Saturday at my craft workshop.
Bit late Elizabeth but never mind
