I'm joining Chelle at Journal 52 for this week's prompt which is Valentines. I've had this piece finished since this afternoon, but got caught up in the NBA All-Start Weekend and forgot to create this post.
After I saw the prompt for this week, I decided to cut a mop-up paper towel (aka kitchen roll across the pond) into a heart. The condition of the paper towel showed it had been through a lot already. My used file folder is the one I created after I allowed all that gorgeous red paint out of the bottle a week or so ago. This was truly the last of it, so it had to be supplemented with some pink acrylic paint.
I had this crazy idea I would add some of this decorative tape to the page as well as the heart. I already had started using it when I read that it was double sided. So much for knowing what I bought. To justify my idiotic behavior, I admit I was at the office store replacing my mouse and saw the heart shaped adhesive. Never thought about reading the package before I bought it. Needless to say, I had a mess on my hands and an even worse-for-wear heart shaped paper towel.
That's when I looked around and grabbed the very last of some
wonderful lacy ribbon my friend Halle sent with my birthday gift last
year. I had used the rest elsewhere.
Being lazy and anxious to watch various basketball events like the All-Star Celebrity game which preceded the Rising Stars game, I decided not to try to mess with my scanner. OK, lazy is not quite the right word, but long time readers know by now how much I LOVE basketball (pro ball).
You should be able to read the saying "LOVE is the key to a broken heart" I wrote with my new white gel pen. The lighting is simply HORRIBLE, and I apologize for the quality of these photos.
I found some bubble stickers that were supposed to be silver backed, but the backing pulled off two of them as I removed them from the packaging. Not sure where I got them, but I've had them forever. For some reason, I thought I had included the challenge number in this view, but I had not.
After trying several different places to shoot this latest entry,
I finally decided this was the best I was going to get.
Thanks for looking. I managed to visit a few of my blogger friends today, but time was my enemy. I'll be by sometime after the games are over tonight (grin). So, thanks again for your wonderful comments. They are so, so appreciated.

That was clever to put a bandaid on the heart. I wonder if the heart shaped adhesive is meant to be used with fine glitter or Perfect pearls? Otherwise what is the point of the hearts?!?! Weird product.
You remind me of the Beatles song "All You Need Is Love". I like the "save" you made with the bandaid. A perfect sentiment for the day :)
That was neat tape, but I didn't get how you would use it either until brilliant Halle mentioned glitter.
Enjoy the basketball!
Love the band-aid mend on the heart. You write Love on it. ;)) Enjoy the ball games. I'll be watching NASCAR tonight and all the races leading up to the Daytona 500. Nothing too strenuous for me as my hands have shut down again. I'm typing one fingered. Hugs from the Girls to the Guys. And me to you.
So sweet and the bandaid oh so perfect. xox
A wonderful page and a very interesting process, thanks for showing!
Best regrds

Love your take on the theme. Great vibrant colours.
Oh Elizabeth …..sorry….sorry….sorry….I'm not laughing at you - its just that you remind me of the time I bought some double sided tape and it just stuck to everything and I couldn't stop it unwinding - by the time I'd cut my way out of the mess I'd totally lost interest in what I was making! Well done for fixing your broken heart - love it!!! Chrisx
