Friday Smiles 108: More for Lexophiles

Although I'm starting to feel more like myself, about the only thing I have to smile about and share this week with Annie at A Stitch in Time, is a bit more humor for Lexophiles, or those who love words.

A thief who stole a calendar got 12 months.

The dead batteries were given out free of charge.

A will is a dead giveaway.

A bicycle can't stand alone.  It is TWO tired.

A backward poet writes inverse.

A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion.

Show me a piano falling down a mine shaft and I'll show you A-flat miner.

Right before I got really, really sick, I managed

to clean up my ugly desk

that was making even WOYWWendy frown.

All I did to get this makeover, was turn my red rosin paper around, so the ugly part was on the other end.

That's all my smiles this week, folks.  Please join Annie for more smiles (many probably better than mine) as we start the weekend on a happy note.

Hi Elizabeth, sorry to hear you are not well. I wish you a very speedy recovery. Love the definitions, especially the 'poultry in motion' :) Your clean and tidy desk is just waiting for you to be well again. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

Trying this again...I have been here a couple of times and kept having weird problems (on a couple other blogs too=OY!).
Anyway thanks for sharing more fun with words...they are all fun...still chuckling over the "poultry in motion" for some reason hah!
I thought of you the other day when I took a piece of red rosin paper out of window where it was for a photo shoot awhile back...I was surprised at how the sun turned the red to brown. It's good stuff isn't it!
You and Wendy and the boys take care and feel better soon dear E!

Been having internet problems this week, so I'll make a double comment here.
LOVE the black bird sitting in a tree.
The altered book for Sally will surely come together. Looks like you received a lot of goodies from her and are putting them to good use.

It feels good to me to have a clean desk once in awhile...but not too often!
