T stands for A-Maize-N
Technically, the name is Nancy's A Maize N Sandwiches, and that is because the restaurant is in Maize, KS. Although it's a bit of a drive to get there, Maize is really now just a suburb of Wichita.
As Wichita expanded north, Maize expanded south, until there was no room for either to expand further in those directions.
There were a lot of locals in the restaurant, even though it was not the customary meal time.
Sally and I spent a long time looking over the menu.
For me it was a challenge, because this was not a vegetarian friendly establishment.
Even though it was freezing outside, Sally ordered a cherry limeade. I stayed with lemon water.
I could see the cherry in Sally's drink, but she was surprised when she finally decided to drink it, and found the stem.
I finally requested a grilled cheese sandwich on an onion roll. They had to make it special, because, like I said, they don't really cater to vegetarians. The fries were quite good, though.
Although these photos were taken last year (OK, early last MONTH), I still wanted to share them with you, since I have found a plethora of times Sally and I have gone out to lunch that I have never shown on my blog.
So what are you posting today? Were you also out and about, or are you sharing a scrapbook, digital, or art journal page with us? Are you dyeing fabric or paper using tea? Did photos define your post, or did words? Whatever the case, please link below and we will be by to visit. Your post can be about anything, as long as you can, in some way, tie it back to a drink, a mug, a cup, or something that holds liquid, whether it's digital, virtual, hybrid, paper art, or realistic. Don't forget, photos can be taken at any time, not just on Tuesday, and not even this year!

Yes I was out and about this week and will be posting lots more from this visit out. Love your restaurants in the US and enjoyed eating in them as well. Also love your cleaning up post prior. I have a cleaning post of my own for another challenge coming up, may share it next week

Fab place Elizabeth, it does look cold outside. Shame there wasn't a lot on the menu for you, glad you found something!
Sally's cherryade looks delicious, glad we could visit with you.

Love those old fashioned diners!!! The menu looks pretty good to me :) I haven't been blogging much lately but hope to get back into the swing of things now.
Looks like a good lunch, and Sally is looking well.
I like the nostalgia type dines too.
Been a long day and my pillow is calling me......LOL
A vintagy type of dining area...lovely and the meal looks good as well- your friend Sally looks like she was satisfied with what she got there!
Happy T-Day dear Elizabeth!
it is nice to be virtually invited to visit your diner... we don´t have that here. and your fries look yummy! and in the end it is the Company that Counts, isn´t it?
have a nice t-day.
I must say that those fries do look good! Amazing isn't it that a vegetarian should struggle for choice on a menu these days! Smiled at Sally's cherry surprise...one of those 'i see it but can't register it' moments!
Looks like a nice restaurant--especially those purple chairs :)
It's nice that smaller places like this still exist as they often have the best food.
Glad you said when the photo was taken because I was surprised to see Sally in short sleeves.
You two find the most amazing out of the way places to go. Bravo for the journeying. xox
It's so nice to have a good friend to lunch with on a regular basis! The weather hasn't been cooperative here and besides, I hate the cold so I'll have to make up for going for lunches in the Spring:)In the meantime, I'll enjoy my art time!
I like the name of the town. I also like the old diner look of the place. Too bad they didn't have more veggy choices. You should have been with me earlier this week I had a great grilled eggplant sandwich at a little spot down the road.

I'm glad you could figure out something to order. It can be hard for non-meat-eaters to eat out!
I've been in for several days again. Cold! But I have to venture out today. Going to make it worth my while and get a bunch done. :)
Happy T day!
Those fries did look yummy Elizabeth and so did that Cherry Limeade... Yum! Hugs! deb
Silly me! I forgot to come and link up my post for hours! Duh! But here I am again, regardless. Just later than usual. ;)
You had already found my post, though, Elizabeth! :):)
I am always amazed at how much space you have in the US..over here everything is on top of each other in towns as lack of space..reason I like driving for 5 mins out into the country as I live on the outskirts of town
Sorry I missed T with everyone...I am just now getting around to trying to catch up with you and all of your creativity E.
Funny my upcoming T idea is also from last year...
where does the time go!!!
Fun how you and friends get around to try lots of interesting places.
