Another new challenge I'm going to join

A few days ago I visited my friend Debbie's blog (Craftymoose Crafts), who clued me into this new challenge that started September 1.

It's hosted by Claudine at Claudine's Art Corner and is all about altering altered playing cards.

For the first week, we are to prep our playing cards.  Now being an altered artist, I have tons of playing cards, but most are only one or a few each that I've been gifted with. And their charm is the image(s) on the back we are, according to Claudine, supposed to cover with gesso.  I wasn't sure I could even find a full set in my stash, but I wasn't about to buy anything, since this is my year to use up, not purchase anything.

How lucky was this?  I have everything I need for the first week: gesso for "tooth," a full deck of playing cards, and a palette knife to spread the gesso.  Looks like I'll be participating in this challenge.

Perhaps like Debbie inspired me, this will inspire you to alter a deck of playing cards, too.  From what I can tell, there is no way to link each week, but you can join Facebook, which I'm still not willing to do. But please don't let that stop you.
