July and August in my never ending monthly calendar

I see Kate has posted her monthly calendar, so I quickly finished my post.  Once again I'm linking with her at The Kathryn Wheel with my July and August calendar pages.

July was all about patriotism, so that's how I decorated it.  It looks like I didn't get the page, which is too large for my scanner, set properly, so you can't see the days of the week.  Sunday will always be the first day of my week, in case you were wondering.

August presents a particular set of problems, in that there are 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays.  According to the internet, this happens only once every 823 years. The Chinese call it "Silver pockets full."  Not sure where the name comes from, but it sure made it hard to create a calendar that would fit on this page.  Not sure what I'll do with this, or how I'll decorate it, but I'm hoping inspiration will strike sometime during the month.  After all, we have an abundance of weekends!

Please don't forget to visit Kate for others who are playing along on her blog, who also prefer this venue to Facebook, Flickr, and other social media sites.

OOoops! Forgotten again and not much time now - grandchild visit imminent! Love both your pages and wondering how you will continue with August. My calendar pages are made with movable weekends depending on how they fit - Sunday is always a good day to start though!! Chrisxx

every 823 years? really?
interesting.

your August will fill up nicely, in the end, it always looks like you've had a 'full' and 'busy' month.

Gosh, have 823 years gone by already?.....LOL
I always start my week on Sunday too, even tough we still call it the week-end. Really doesn't make sense though, since God rested on the 7th day. Oh well it is a GOOD day where ever we place it on a calendar.

HUMM.... Five weekends this month. That means I can ask for another weekend off with out breaking any stupids rules. YEAH!!!! The flowers look good and so do the calendar pages. We have a neighbor that doesn't mow also.. I sear it's at the point where you could easily bale it if you had the machine. Once they do I'll have to go over and rack some up for mulch in the flowerbeds.Have a great weekend!

It's great to see your finished page and new page each month! I might try that challenge again next year. Last time I started it I got shipped to Toronto! I had good intentions of keeping it up during my trip but it just did not happen.

But your August looks appropriately hot with all the reds. :)

Love your patriotic July with the stamps for decoration! I had not heard of the August bit of trivia-very interesting. I'll be anxious to see how you work out your calendar spread for that month.
