Craft Barn's 16th Quotes and Lyrics Challenge

The latest words are here for Craft Barn's Quotes and Lyrics Challenge.  This time the words are Family and Thing.  While looking for a quote, I was taken by one attributed to Princess Diana.

I couldn't believe my good fortune that I had found both words in a single quote.

As always, my substrate was a used file folder, the back of Challenge 15.  To that, I added three fluid acrylic colors.

After the paint was dry, I did a bit of stamping.  I used one of my handmade stamps.

I couldn't believe that I had stamped the "E" perfectly (in pigment ink, of course), then smeared it when I brushed over the letters to make sure they were completely adhered.

I seem to do much better with solvent ink (Staz-on).

I hope you can read my handwriting, because I know you know this author.

One final look at this fortnight's entry and the quote:
Family is the most important thing in the world.
~Princess Diana
I was surprised the latest challenge had closed by the time I got there Saturday morning to see who I still needed to visit and leave comments to.  I hope everyone got their entry in on time.  Speaking of time, I got to everyone quicker this fortnight, including dear Fiona, who always leaves me a lovely comment, and the gals on Facebook, all of whom I can't leave comments for.

I'm still looking for my quote and you're done and entered! sorry you were too late with the last one. Love the colours on your quote this week.

Oh wow .. this is my cup of tea---
I love the use of the primary colors..as a symbol to the quote ..
and the term "MOST IMPORTANT"!

I also love how creative you made this with the different letters!

I feel with you with the smearing stamped things...
I love to stamp with black archival on tissue and glue on afterwords with just a gluestick ..a bit more to do ..but so it can be no smear and also with black Acrylic ink I love to stamp (much better)letters and such things recently..
I made myself a black-acrylic stamp-pad inspired by the fab Alma Stoller

Happy Sunday Elizabeth ♥♥♥

Love the piece.

Stazon is my go to ink for anything not paper. Even then, for tricky stamping I like to use a stamp press (it's got little foam feet)so I only have to press down and the feet bring the stamp up with less wiggle than I do. I used a coupon to buy mine (love coupons). But when the inevitable happens, I take a Tim Holtz approach and embrace imperfection lol.

Wow you were quick off the blocks with this fabulous piece. Love it all - smudges included -the lettering is superb.
I can't believe the linky thing closed so early, two of us missed the boat which I'm sad about. It isn't the first time it has closed early either. *sigh*

Hello Elizabeth!! So happy to visit you today from MY OWN COMPUTER!!!!! yippee!!! I just did a post all about it, actually it's for Tuesday but won't have time so I did it now. YIPPEEE!! So good to be back.

I love this, the colors and that quote. Didn't know it was by Diana though, how sweet. I almost named Summer after her, since she had died the year I had her. She was a favorite of mine and Rich's.

Hope you've had a good weekend, it was perfect here. Wishing it could stay this way for another 3 months. This is our last week of crazy back to school stuff, how did that happen????!!!!

Take care and see you again soon. hugs!

What a great array of lettering for that perfect quote on your brilliant background E!

p.s. thank you for your nice comment on my Art Helps Me Breathe Frida piece...what looks like crochet at the bottom is actually plaster stenciled on old book text through a plastic doily...I globbed it with lots of layers of paint and gesso.

I saw this quote while I was beginning to research one to use (still ongoing) and did not even realize it had both words--good for you!

The way you arranged the letters is perfect for the bullseye background you created. I love this piece with all the variety of letters!
