ICADs for July 4-10

I've stopped looking for prompts at Daisy Yellow, because I decided I'm now doing this for me and me only.  For that, I don't need prompts.

Many of you who visited last week, saw this IC I showed on the 4th of July.

Before my celery "cabbage rose" got too old, I took one more stamping of it.  Then I sewed some lace to mark the spot.

I have to admit, I never saw this technique on Daisy Yellow's blog, but instead on my friend Cindy's. I was so impressed about how she explained the object is to position all the disparate pieces together enough such that you only need one staple to hold everything together.  I plan to use this technique a LOT in the future, because this one was fun!

I used three paint chips and sewed them together to make this piece.

I let lots of strings hang when I made this one I call "Tugging at my heart strings."  And in case you can't tell, I have no feed dogs on my sewing machine, so I twist and turn the IC as best I can to make each "freehand" heart.

A couple of scraps from my leftover bin were used to sew these two pieces to the IC.

I took a couple of ads from junk mail and turned them into what I call Bleubeard and Elizabeth's Family Night.  And since today is Thursday, you know what we'll be doing tonight: having family time together, of course!

I hope you enjoyed this week's ICAD contributions.

Love your cheery ICADs - especially impressed with your sewing - I've said it before and I'll say it again - I must use my sewing machine more!! Maybe I need a sign above it, he! he! Love the one staple idea. Hugs, Chrisx

Love these, Elizabeth, especially the heart strings! Isn't the one staple technique challenging and fun? I find myself using staples a lot these days.

Those top two are rocking!
I'm glad you are going it on your own. You don't need prompts-- you have all kinds of creative goodies in your head. I say let it out, girl-- let it out
Peace~

Your "no prompt" I cads are really great.

I'm a sucker for hearts, so that is my favorite. I imagine "family night" is Bluebeards......grin

You always come up with some unique and clever ideas. I really like the heartstrings.

A theme for my altered book? Maybe. But I am not sure if I could do a whole book about tea, so maybe quotes.

What fun! Each and every one is so interesting and so different from the one next to it. Clever one staple idea. Sounds like a fun exercise.

Oh boy I am itching to try stamping with some vegies...I always "think" of it but need to just do it!
Your 'rose' stamped beautifully with great detail
and your free motion stitching is lots of fun too.
I think prompts can sometimes slow us down...obviously you didn't need any with all the creativity waiting to come out!
Happy Family night and almost weekend.

Oh Elizabeth, I love all of these cards - your sewing makes me want to get out my sewing machine (but where on earth would I put it?!). So glad you got to try the one-staple collage and it turned out great. It is a really fun idea and I too will be doing more of these one day I'm sure. Your celery rose still looks great - I like it in black - it turned out very well-defined with the medium you used (ink?). Love that family night card - hope you two have fun tonight! :) Not too much catnip for Bleubeard!

Hi Elizabeth!! WOW, these are so pretty and fun!! I'm glad your doing them on your own now. LOVE the stitching, the hearts are so awesome!! You do know how to sew if you can do that. How cute to have family night with Bleubeard, YAY!! Have fun!

p.s. so funny that you and many others from T Day said they don't like hot dogs. I love grilled hot dogs but don't usually get them at the picnic. Nobody brought lasagna, MY FAVE although it's not much of a picnic food. So I got a hot dog as my entrée.

Thank you for your good wishes for Kristin. I do worry about her but trust this is her calling and staying positive as I can about it. They do make sure the groups are safe before letting them into these countries. In all these years they've never had a problem so I'm counting on it to stay that way. It's gorgeous where she is and she is so happy. I could never do that but it's amazing to watch the ones who can on this journey. Thank you! Hoping to post my SOC post tomorrow or Saturday. YAY!! Sad it's almost over.

Have a good night and these icads made me smile!!
