Summer of Color, Week 2: Coral, teal, bright white

Kristin, our wonderful host at Twinkle, Twinkle has picked the latest SOC4 colors and they are coral, teal, and bright white.

Before we begin, I want to apologize for not visiting everyone last week.  It was a deadly week for me, and I had big blog hops every day (all seven days).  I simply couldn't be on the computer and make art, too.  But I've limited my creating time this week, so can spend more on the computer visiting each person who visited me, including ones from last week.  However, be aware, I am NOT a member of Flickr, Facebook, Instagram, Google +, etc., so if your link goes to those sites, I won't be able to leave comments.

Now let's get busy making art.

I began with some of my handmade shimmering mists and a white on white fat quarter.  I played around with both colors, trying to come up with acceptable coral and teal. 

Those of you who have followed my blog for a long time, know I am in an ongoing private one-on-one color swap, where my swap partner chose teal as the color one time.  I struggled with that color, because even the experts often disagree as to the description.  I thought Kristin did an excellent job showing teal on the blog post, so I wanted to try to make something as close to that as possible.

Now you can truly see the white-on-white fabric I dyed using my handmade mists.  They are very shimmery, but the camera doesn't pick that up, of course.

When I think of these colors, I think of a beach house, probably in the Caribbean.  I realize the lighting sucks, but it's early morning here, and my camera lens gets in the way of the photo.  It's fairly obvious I can't scan this one, because it's too dimensional.

It's obvious the E-6000 glue hasn't dried yet, because I haven't had a chance to clean it off the buttons.
