Journal 52, Week 18: Hands

For our 18th week at Journal 52, Chelle's prompt is Creative Hands.   This was the perfect prompt, because my time is extremely limited right now.

This mixed media entry comes from an idea I had when I was making my Hands Altered Book (AB).  I hope you see (and read) the bit of humor, or possibly the premonition of our future, in this entry.

The substrate is the back of my week 17 entry.  In fact, you might even be able to see some of the feathers sticking beyond the substrate.

I'm not a very good stamper, and the feathers and bling on the back of this piece made it nearly impossible to get a good stamping surface.  However, I used an alphabet stamp set I was given that is made up of typewriter letters and numbers.

I used coordinating colors on the substrate, attempting to tie the two areas together.

I found the image in an old computer magazine, then I dissected an old computer keyboard

to procure the embellishments.

What was it I said about keeping this book as flat as possible?  Well, looks like last week caused the flood gates to burst, and now it looks like anything is possible in this book.

Now Chelle suggested we doodle, draw, and color, but doodling and drawing are not my skills.  So I'll leave those skills in the capable hands of those who do.

Again, thanks for visiting.  I'll be out the rest of the day, but will try to return your comments soon.  And remember, this is the only place you'll see my HANDS, creative or not, because I'm not a member of Facebook or Flickr.

Love this composition and the humour with the shift/control - very clever thinking :) Isn't that what happens when big business or government doesn't want to accept liability?????
Love the colours you have used too. Thank you so much for leaving me such lovely comments on a blog post - they are much appreciated xx

Oh great take on a masterpiece, and really, quite an observation with the embellishments....radical, even! Love it.
