Most days I show my desk only. Today is a bit different, though.
This was taken at around 9:00 am. Note how the overhang on my house, indicative of craftsman style houses, keeps the snow away from the foundation.
Then here is the same shot at about 10:30 am. I can't see much difference here, but
this shot
and this one show how the snow is swirling around at around 9 am.
Look closely at the blue truck in the street, though, and you can see how the snow is starting to pile up on the vehicles around 10:30 am.
Here is a view from the front of my house at around 9 am. It was too windy by 10:30 to take another photo from this angle.
And now let's get warm inside so you can see my worktable today.
My friend BJ was the first to try to show me the cute little rocking doodle at Google they used for Chinese New Year. Since I don't use Google, I couldn't see it, although others did. Of course, many of you who read my blog have seen my Chinese New Year tip-in I showed about a week ago, but I thought I could make it my rocking horse of the week, because it's too cold in this room to set up a different rocker (which is the reason most of you visit, anyway). I hope you can see the rocking horse because it sort of got lost in the background. The tip-in is held by the first gift I ever received from our generous host. She sent one to every person who participated in the very first WOYWW anniversary. What a sweetheart, and she's married to the thoughtful man who made mine.
Also on my table is some baby oil that's leaking. I bought it at Dollar Tree and when I got it home, it was leaking. Not sure
Usual caveat applies. If you came here from Julia's, please leave your number. I'll be by to visit. And yes, I visited all but one person who left a comment last week whose blog I couldn't leave comments on. One of these days, I'll make it around to everyone like I did in "the old days." But until then, your number is the best way to ensure I stop by.

Very chilly there. Nice to look at from so far away, and I notice you even have a rocking horse on the verandah!
Brrrr. Moisture is good but the cold and wind... ugh. Hope you stay warm and get some desk time! Happy WOYWW!

Oh dear, this snow looks so romantic, but it must be awful to live with!
Those cars would have frozen pipes etc.Do you have to have antifreeze in everything?
OMG look at all that snow it looks amazing. Hard to fathom we are in heat waves and you are freezing. I visit by the way because of the desk hop and I love seeing your stuff not because of your rocking horse that is a bonus. Where is Bluebeard?
Have a great week, happy WOYWW
Hugs Eliza & Yoda 12

OOOOOh your snow photos are beautiful Elizabeth....don't get snow where I live, we have to contend with cyclones and strong winds (we had one pass by here last week which sadly has washed away a lot of sand on our beache).Have a good week RobynO#16
Oh BURRRRRR! Stay inside where it is warm GF! Bet Bluebeard was smart enough to stay indoors today.
The rockers are just a bonus for me when I come to visit. I come to see all your alteration and art work, and your photos of Sally.....LOL

I hope you can find the right container for that oil. Yes snow starting again here too. They're canceling school classes for tomorrow already. Stay warm. Peg R 25
Brrrrr, Elizabeth!!! I hope you have a fire to keep you warm! Everything is white outside!
Was that the first WOYWW? I have the tip-in, is that what you call it? You mean I've been in almost at the start? WOW! Yeah, I remember when I used to be able to visit everyone! :^) happy woyww, and congratulations on being no. 1! patsy #15 (hope I remembered that right! )
Oh my, Elizabeth, just looking at your lovely snow pictures makes me feel ccccccold! Yikes, I can't imagine how many layers I would need to wear if I were in that weather!
peggy @#26

Hope the snow doesn't cause too much inconvenience to you - I'm hoping we don't get any this year!! Helen 7
I couldn't imagine how it feels to have that snow around and how cold it must be. We don't even use a heater in winter here. Looks pretty but I guess it must make getting around really hard. Love the gorgeous fans.
Have a great week.

I am cold just looking at your photo's! Hard to imagine such extreme weather when I have only seen a little snow in my lifetime.
The rocking horse is grest. love the colours you used.
Happy WOYWW!

Your home looks like it's in western MA!! We've got more snowing coming today too!! I enjoyed the pictures, however palms trees would have been nice too!! Your card was very pretty!
Have a great week, Ginny #36

Hullo Elizabeth and yes must admit I join you in your frustration over the comment leaving try my best.. :D
and do I ever love your photos.
I am sure it must be very cold but oh so beautiful .. we used to get snow and sometimes as much as that when lived up on great dividing range (as child).
But where we live now no snow let alone frost...
..and well best bit was finding the rocking horse on your piece of art how clever is that!!
Happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #31
Well now I see why you liked seeing my green grass yesterday. We've not had any snow yet this winter although we have had loads of rain and yesterday we had hail showers which made the garden have white patches for a while. So glad you got to see the Google doodle in the end must do my chinese new year page today BJ#??
I don't want to jinx it but I am SO happy to have not seen snow this year! And you so want that bottle of baby oil for Gelli plate cleaning. Really after massaging in a few drops the colour that is leeched out of the pseudo-gel is astonishing. Trust me....
Getting an early start for a change....
Happy WOYWW Day!

Brrrrrrr that looks cold. I only really like snow if I'm looking at it through a window so I've enjoyed sharing yours today :-)
Hugs,

It has been really cold and windy here but luckily we didn't receive the snow that you guys did! I am happy about that. Too much to do and too little time to be tied down in the house. Hey whats up with this getting #1 all the time...you gotta in with the boss? Congrats on making it again so soon. Vickie aka Okienurse #52
Wow! I love your new pristine white garden carpet. There's an outdoor art project on my blog which you may like if you can get out to find some twigs etc., Nah! maybe stay inside all cosy.
Are you using the oil on paper to make your own "parchment"? That's what I do. You could have mopped up the leakage with paper to save wastage.
Take care my dear if you have to go out in that white stuff.
love Jo x No 51
Argh, leaking bottles - that's what ziplocks and well softenend hands are made for! I don't intend to spend all day at the computer dear gal...I dip in and out, really, otherwise my conscience, my boss, the VAT inspector and the insurance guys would be after me..! Yep, todays chores are quite business-y...
The snow is incredible, I hope you're warm and sound..and don't even try to clear it before the forecast says it's over. Pointless. Gotta say I love the 'craftstman style' overhang on your house, how quaint.

Shivering just scrolling through your photos. Glad you invited us inside. Hope you and Bleubeard are cosy. You do live in a very sensible house. Have a lovely cozy week.
Sandra @59
That snow made me feel really cold, then I looked out teh window and the rain and the wind and thought
'not sure which I'd prefer' I think I'll stay in an surf the WOYWW net.
Hope Bleubeard is staying warm in all the snow or is he an indoor cat who never goes out?
Chris # 55
I love looking at snow scenes, as long as it's through someone else's window. What is it about snow that makes you want yo make pretty patterns on your lawn?
Love the artwork as well, although I had to zoom in to spot the rocking horse.
Happy Wednesday.

Oh; the wearing of the white! We, here, are expecting a foot by day's end. Have to admit - the fresh snow is peaceful and cleansing. I know it's not always that way.
Be safe and warm!
Great photos! xo
I love that the overhang on your house protects the foundations...the old designs really are the best! It is so pretty where you lived thank you for showing us. I love all the trees, it's like a fairy tale winter wonderland. I hope that you manage to keep warm though...take care...
Hugs, LLJ 33 xx
Good morning, Elizabeth. I am now awake, having had my porridge and a strong coffee this morning. Mr Linky just cracks me up - he definitely tells lies. By the way, I was linking through my Kindle Fire which is not as fast as the computer so that is probably why you are consistently beating me. Never mind, it is just a bit of fun anyway. I hope you are keeping yourself warm this time. Lovely photos, far more interesting that our continuous endless rain. At this rate, the whole country will be under water. My garden has several unintentional ponds in it now, and I cannot get on it to plant my newly arrived fruit bushes. Definitely a crafting day again. Take care of yourself and Bleubeard. xx Maggie #3
PS forgot to say, I don't think the glue actually has a sell by date, but some of the tubes of silicone glue are seriously hard, and they will not go through the syringes any more, so they will have to be binned, along with a lot of other stuff. xx Maggie #3
Oh my word what a lot of snow!! Now I might seem a bit odd but I would love some here!! Ok I don't want it to hang around for ages but apart from a very brief flurry - none !!! Today is cold, wet and windy. I love he look of where you live. It's interesting to see where folk live. I did spot the rocking horse on your lovely work. Anne x #63
Have a great week, happy WOYWW
Peggy x #69
Your place looks like MN now! I'm sure it won't stick around too long for you though.
Finally I have done my WOYWW post. I have made a tag for Chinese New Year and included the Google Doodle and my new rocking horse stamp just for you - enjoy (As I am your snow - bit like being a grandma and enjoying the best bits and not having to deal with it! LOL)
Oh and the basking shark bit is for you too. BJ#73
I'm glad you haven't been having too much snow this Winter Elizabeth, but I think it is nice to get a bit. When I got Sam of Busy Butterfingers to try sock knitting she emailed me right after her first session "Bloody hell! This is like knitting with embroidery thread on toothpicks"!! She's not wrong, lol!
Hugs

Love your snow photos. It is exactly how it looks out my doors today. We got over 8 inches of snow yesterday! And now it is going to get very cold here. So a good time to craft! :) Happy WOYWW! #27
Great snow pics - we just have cold wet windy Wednesday weather here today! x Jo
My post this week is very snowy, too! We got loads this time around, it's very pretty.
Fun Chinese New Year card, very pretty!
Happy WOYWW to you and Bleubeard!

tiny books and snow
Hello Miss Elizabeth,it's looking the same out my window but mooore,, I flew by quickly in the wee hours, from Julia's blog, great advise for word verification, thanks, your card is gorgeous, love anything Asian so their new year is fabulous. Your photos are wonderful, have a wonderful day Miss always first LOL, happy WOYWW, Dianne # 67
I swear, Elizabeth, I could have taken the SAME picture out the corner of my porch! Looks almost the same, even with the dangly things! Our snow is also piling up, and our street must be on a "plow when you have nothing else to do" list, because I almost didn't make it down out street after taking my Mom out to lunch. I also have a snow picture on my blog, taken from my craft room. Only 42 days left 'till Spring!
Lindart #84
Too cold for me, tho' we have rain here today. Snow looks great...and your photos are so lovely.
it hasn't stopped snowing here all day!!! fed up with it now. especially as the school bus went running and I had to walk the kids!
lovely lotos of your snow though, like your dangly things

the snow looks lovely, cold and wet here, thanks for sharing Donna #94
You got a lot of snow! Hope it's not too much of a pain.
I just wanted to stop by and answer the question you asked yesterday. No, I didn't make my paper angels. They are gifts from some European friends of mine. Every year I get a new angel or two in my Christmas card, which is nice. It's fun to watch the angel choir grow; it's just one of those little details of the Christmas season that I always want to remember. Thanks for your interest. Take care!
We've got the same kind of storm here, it's falling slowly but relentlessly. So far about 10 inches.
I found the rocking horse on the card, but it took a minute. It felt like one of those games!
Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for the nice comments.
Happy Woyww,
Sandy #2
A foot plus of snow here and still falling. I will sleep like a baby tonight from all of my shoveling. xox
Well, the snow is a surprise. All we have down here in South Devon is rain, rain, and yet more rain. I can't believe there's so much water in the sky!! Beautiful photos of the snow, and the wonderfully snow-laden sky. What a contrast, the fabulous warmth of the Chinese tag - I love the fans. Beautiful!
I've only just remembered it's Wednesday hence being No. 100 this week.
Shoshi
I love your snowy landscape. Here in the South of the UK it just rains and rains with flooding all over the place :-( . Like the way you organized your rocking horse a lot, wonderful colours.
I see that you are getting the snow too... I love snow and have complained about the lack of it since moving to Missouri....I am not complaining this year... in fact I am done with it. I'm ready for warm sunshine and dirt under my fingernails :)
I do see it! I see the rocking horse. I love your Chinese New Year card - the colors are gorgeous.
April #24
My son would love all that snow. I like that picture with the rocking horse. Sorry for the late visit #13
Hello! What a nice surprise to see the snow pictures, beautiful! We have tons of it here, so cool to walk in it. By tons I mean it's past my knees and too much for Lucky to walk thru it but he sure can run thru it and loves it. What a crazy winter it's been!
How pretty this is, love it! How nice that your host did one for everybody with help from hubby. I think that's a great idea and it came beautiful!!
Guess where we are going for lunch today??!! Looking forward to having some seafood and date with my hubby, we NEED it.
Thanks so much for the visit to my blog. I wish you could help my blogger too. I sent an email to them but have heard nothing. We were going to try a couple things but it would change everything and I'd loose all my bookmarks and addresses for everyone. So I'm going to start writing down all of them just in case I loose them changing things around. Wish us luck!
Take care and stay warm!
I'm suffering from snow envy! We have only had endless non-stop rain here...Alex keeps praying for snow and as much as it is inconvenient, I have to say I am on his side...it would make a pleasant change! Thanks for sharing. Happy belated WOYWW. Caro x (#57)
Hey Elizabeth. Please can you pop some of that snow in the post for me! It is just wet and windy here with lots of flooding and misery. No flooding here at home but around us.
I can see the rocking horse on your card.
Hugs
xx
Well to me your snow looks pretty...that said it is always easy to say that when the snow is not in your own yard OR you don't have to go out in it!
So I am wondering...did I miss what you are using the baby oil for?
oxo
also meant to say the snow is especially nice enjoyed from the cover of your lovely porch :)
