Speaking of windows,
did you see this photo of my back yard I took of the transformer that blew? It's why I wasn't able to get around to a lot of people last week. For that I apologize.
You can see the snow hasn't let up much, either.
Snow was dumped on top of previous snow and ice. Add to that the fact our HIGH temperatures continue to remain sub-freezing since the last time we met.
Because the electricity (and consequently the heat) was out for a day, my central heat can't seem to keep up. So, I have done NOTHING in my craft room since last Tuesday night.
That means you'll have to see a few random shots of rocking horses today. Technically, this is NOT a rocker, but it has value because it is a boot scraper.
This one, however, is just what it seems to be, although it sits next to two antiques and atop my scale collection. I have more, but I don't want to overload this post.
Again, I apologize if I didn't make it to your place last week. I'll try to do better this week, since it's supposed to warm up a bit by the weekend, when hopefully Bleubeard and I can climb out from under the covers.

WOW on all of your white stuff E!
That boot scraper is super with such a great primitive feel to it...
AND that last photo is wonderful and chock full of treasures that really catch my eye...
Take care and hope you warm up!

Wow, you have been getting hit pretty hard! We've just been cold but to be insulated under all that white, too-ugh!
I hope you are getting toasty now. Just stay healthy and dry. We will all still be here when the thaw comes around.
Warm hugs!
~Dawn
#1 again. You go girl. My son would love to be out in all that snow. #5
Sucks about your transformer blowing and the snow reminds me of what's outside my front door we have lots too happy woyww hugs Nikki 4

That is rotten luck about your transformer! Hope things start to warm up soon for you!
Loving your antique scales though!
Debxx #7
It looks the same here as it does there with all the snow! :) We didn't loose power this time, but we have in the past. Thanks for the look at your wonderful antiques.
#29
Snow always looks so pretty to me, but then I have never lived any where near it, so I guess it must be a major inconvenience, not to mention cold! Keep warm. #32
Wow, Elizabeth, you are having so much of that white stuff dumped on you and I do hope your transformer is sorted well and truly and you are keeping warm and well.
It hailed here yesterday and snow is forecast but so far we've been luckier than all the people who have been flooded out throughout our country and the shambles the government has made of getting aid to them.
Love your boot scraper!

WOW! Third week in the # 1 spot. Cabin fever must be setting in and your stocking Julia.....LOL
Love all your antique treasures. I would have never guessed a boot scrapper.
Krisha #34 I think, oh well you know how to find me.
You always have such interesting things to show. I hope the weather lets up soon
Top of the pile again, how do you do it! Hope your snow eases up soon and you can warm up a bit . Love your collections today. Helen 12
Hope you are managing to keep warm! Yesterday we had rain, hail, snow, then bright sunshine... a month of weather in one day! Now do you see why we Brits are obsessed with the weather??
Thanks for the visit and entering my giveaway :) xx
Cor B limey, all that snow. Thought we were in for it yesterday as it suddenly went very dark, thunder gave a couple of rolls and something came down and covered the ground white in no time. Cannot say whether it was snow or hail. Soon cleared up though. Just peeked out and the lawn is covered in frost but it looks as if we have ice rather than snow.
Hope you and Bleubeard can peek out of the blankets, my heart goes out to the two of you suffering with no heating be it for one day or several. Take care - oh, and congrats on your no 1 spot again.
Hugs, Neet 38 xx
I LOVE the boot scrapper...what a cool piece of functional art. It's just great. So sorry you've had to struggle with the weather...seems a common issue of late. A good friend of mine on the US East Coast has been out of power for 5 days. They left their house....yikes! So happy that another WOYWW'er knows Ingrid's work. She is the most patient of teachers. Here's hoping you have a good week ahead and can get back in your craft room.

Elizabeth all that snow....... And no power and no heating!!! Please ensure you keep yourself warm .... Snuggle Bluebeard ! And have some warm food as well..... When the sunshine returns so will your crafting

I can't imagine being that cold and then no electricity on top of that. Must be absolutely awful.
Hope it warms up soon.
Happy WOYWW!
Tertia #25
Brrrr Elizabeth that looks sooooo cold. We had our first snow yesterday...a heavy storm that captivated the twins while it fell but thank fully although it covered everywhere ours went as quickly as it came :-)
Hugs,
Annie x # 50
OH, I had to look where you lived! I thought it had to be USA..and you've been #1 often...Thanks for sharing the photos. BUT,I too,am sick of cold. We got our first lasting snow this past weekend and looks about the same as yours. Many are having underground water pipes break up here, keeping my fingers crossed. That is an expensive fix. Best Wishes for a weather change. Enjoy WOYWW visits
Oh you stay under the covers and don't mind us snooping about! A scale collection - well how interesting. How many metric ones you got then??!!
Fingers crossed for warmer temps. Man I hate the cold.
Oh gosh Elizabeth...how long were you without power, does that happen often in the winter. Sad you weren't at your desk this week but great to see some of your collection. Cheers RobynO#51
Hang the crafting, you and Bleubeard stay wrapped up and warm. It was in the height of the snow last year that our central heating boiler packed in and we were so cold until the new one was installed. Keep warm and safe.
Is that a musical instrument on the wall next to the horse? It looks like some sort of zither but I couldn't quite see the detail enough. Looks interesting anyway!
Hugs, LLJ 39 xx
And I thought you were going to do something with the baby oil to warm up - LOL BJ #58
Oh-dear-oh-dear... it looks awfully cold at your place! We haven't had any snow or ice this winter (and I'm glad!) and today it even feels like Spring in Holland... hope you will experience some warmth soon too! Hug from Holland and happy woyww, Marit #57
You seem to have all the snow while we have all the rain, although we did have five minutes of snow yesterday. I hope you can find a way to keep warm, plenty of hot drinks and hot water bottles. I wasn't in the battle for 1st place this week because I fell asleep at the critical moment. Never mind, sleep is always good. The little glue runners are fin so long as you run them the right way up. The big one is just too cumbersome for me, so I think I shall pass that to someone else to try out. Have a good week, with a bit more warmth. xx Maggie
Don't blame you for not crafting in the cold brrrrr! The weather seems all upside down, snow and freezing conditions where you are and parts of the UK under water for weeks now, with more rain and gales on the way. Stay safe and as warm as you can.
Happy Wednesday

Marvelous boot scrsper and antique scales. you are getting snow and cold worse than us. Keep warm and safe. Cuddle with Bleubeard! xox
It's hard to play when your fingers are cold. Lots of snow there. We are scheduled for about 8" of snow today. I live in Southern US and that is unusual for us!
Glenda #60
You sure have a lot of the white stuff there. I'd almost forgotten there's any other kind of weather, except endless rain!
Oh my goodness. I hope your snow lets up soon. We are expected to get about a foot of it starting tonight. I hope you stay safe and warm. I loved seeing your beautiful photos and hope that your electricity stays on from now on! Take care. Hugs to you!
First post...you're on the ball. And this is my first visit to you. PA has been blasted with snow/ice storms too and still expecting more. I'm getting tired of it. But we've been lucky...not loosing power. I really feel bad for the line men that have to work under these conditions, and for the 1,000's that lost power. Interesting collection. I'll scroll around here for a bit, just getting to know you. Stay warm. Happy trails Carole #68
Happy WOYWW! Great Workspace. xx Jan (69)
Great photos and post. Love that boot scraper! Nice primitive feel!
Stay warm; this winter has been challenging. We are awaiting, yet, another winter storm tomorrow into Friday! Warm thoughts your way! xo
The snow looks so wonderful, so much nicer that the rain we have. and your rocking horses are doing well.
Thought of you the other day when I discovered that Tattered Lace do a rocking horse die. Thought it would be on your list of must haves.
Enjoy the snow and keep yourselves warm.
Chris #48
So much snow. Great moisture but hope your heat/power stays on. Clean desk is just waiting for you.
Thanks for visiting and happy WOYWW!
Carol N #14
Sorry it's so cold and you still have such a lot of snow. Although I'd still like some, I think I would be fed up of what you have by now. We still have rain!!!!! Another severe storm forecast here - red alert put out for some areas- highest alert we have :-(
Love all your treasures! Take care Love Anne x #78 (I think )
Oh yikes, no heat, that's the WORST.
Your antiques are very interesting; I never would have guessed that was a boot scraper!
(The tiny books are pretty easy, actually--mainly because they're so small!)
Thank you for stopping by this woyww, and stay warm.
Happy Woyww!

#13 this week with
tiny books and Valentines
I hope you and B are snuggling up to stay warm. Don't you just hate this winter. now i expect a record high summer.
Thanks for visiting and support during my loss.

Oh my goodness, that snow looks deeeep!!! We still have snow on the ground here in the Ozarks, but our temps are slowly climbing this week. By Saturday, I'll be doing a jig because it will be in the fifties! That's why I bought my seeds to get a few tomatoes started on the greenhouse. Your antiques are so fun by the way--gives me the urge to go 'round to the flea markets! Thanks for visiting. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #11
Hey #1
thanks for visiting and the kind words.
Random is good. I'm hoping my electric holds!
Robyn 9
Hello #1! I have to visit your blog more often! I love the things you do!!
We have had snow on top of snow on top of ice and more snow tonight! I hope no more transformers blow! Stay warm!
xxDaniella#20
How scary to have a transformer right in your backyard blow up. And no heat... ugh. We are on gas heat and when it gets very cold sometimes the gas pressure goes down so it seems like you can't get warm, so I can relate. Sort of. We don't have all that white stuff. Brrr... you can keep it. Hope it warms up soon! Judy # 82
Hi Elizabeth,
Congrats on being number one! I wish we had some of that snow. Unfortunately we are still in a drought (for around a decade now) and need every drop of rain/snow that we can get.
Not having heat is definitely a bummer. Keep an eye on that transformer. I hope the rest of the week goes well and the temperature rises for you.
Happy WOYWW
Kay (86)
Poor you not having any heat for a day, it seems to take ages to heat up again.
I love your boot scraper and the rocking horse is gorgeous.
Happy Wednesday,
Karin #85
wow, lots of snow!
Karen #44
Love the scales!! I'm keeping my eye out for one myself. Sooner or later I'll stumble upon one and nab it!
I managed to get all the compacted snow off our driveway today since it warmed up to 20°F. Sweatshirt, hat and gloves is all you need when it's not windy. We haven't seen the blacktop driveway for at least 2 months....nice to know it's still there. :)
Wow...you still have loads of snow! We had about an inch on Tuesday that came and went within the day. I love your antiques and the rocking horse. Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW. Caro x (#56)
Thanks for the visit earlier..I do consider myself a sewer..love the rocking horse. We have a lot of snow too..not as much as you, but it keeps snowing on top of snow. What a pain! Cx #31

Well, my backyard looks like that today and I live in SC!! Ice Storm PAX is bearing down on us and I can't believe I still have electricity. Keeping my fingers crossed. Love your vintage scales and can I ask what you use baby oil for in your art?
Cathy C. #90 I put the worn number in my previous comment :)
I would stay under the covers if I were you. interesting collection of scales is the one on the right just for eggs ..... is it for sizing them, you don't see many of those these days.
keep warm and cuddle up with bluebeard
janet#32
Wow that's some snow! Stay warm and safe. Enjoy your day. Take care Zo xx 71
Since you don't have email : 0 - question - did you get your camera fixed? Leave a message on my last blog post at Honeysuckle. Hugs!
Lovely eye-candy in those photos. I too am sick of snow though we haven't lost power (yet) at least. Another 4" coming in the morning…ugh. I want me some green leafy sunny days!
Hi back again Elizabeth...just to answer your query about an Op shop stands for Opportunity Shop run by Salvos, Red Cross or church groups; a preloved, recycle store. And I can imagine you all walking around indoors with all your layers on to keep warm, I'd be snuggled up in bed with a good book. We over here on the otherhand are taking off as much as we can or need to live with air conditioning and be rich to run it. Have a good one thanks for dropping by RobynO#51
I know you probably don't think so, but that snow looks so inviting...after the heatwave we've had, I'd love to dive into it....Hope you have a great week, congrats on being #1.
Happy crafting
DeDe #98
SO glad we have missed out the snow so far! But oh my I do love that boot scraper -so evocative. And I wonder what that bottle of oil is for? Gelli play is my guess :)
Romantic day with DH kept me from WOYWW so here I am today!
Mary Anne (27)
At last I can leave a comment! When I'm using my phone it comes up with funny messages so I hope you don't think I've been being rude! Wow! All that snow and no heat - shivering at the thought - it does look beautiful though! Love your boot scraper! Hope your craft room gets some use soon! Hugs, Chrisx
Such a beautiful sight but probably not the best to be living in for long. Along with the frustrations of weather we have the problems of power overload, stay warm, wish I could visit and cool down a little, summer hear is great but the mossies not so nice.
Now onto answering your questions here we are at the other end of summer and the Australian Football League is starting up for the season that is the funny shaped ball LOL
Try and stay warm
Hugs Eliza 10
A-ha! Managed to get through and find a box to leave a comment - don't know what happens, but I can't always manage to get this far...
Thanks for the visit. Yes, Mrs D and I had a great deal of fun - and you are right - so much fun when working together.
That snow looks lovely - rain and more rain here - but we are fortunate being up a hill somewhat, so no floods here. Power is on as well - sorry you lost yours for a day. Hope you manage to really warm up, and enjoy the snow - even if from inside!!
Nice rocking horses - what brought about your delight in them? What started you off?
Have a great week.
Margaret #74
I see what you mean about the snow. The weatherman reckons that will have some effect on us as it makes it way across the ocean - quite how it will affect us. We'll see. I do feel for everyone suffering in these conditions. I've been lucky in that we've just had a few leaks in my shed and Craig's workshop. It's horrific watching the devastation taking place up and down the UK with the flooding. :( Hope you get some heating back soon!
