Journal 52, week 7: when I grow up

This week's prompt provided by Chelle at Journal 52 is "when I grow up."  Since I've already been a metrologist (a person who studies infinitely small numbers into the light band spectrum), a statistician, an engineer (not the kind that drives the train, though), a student, and a human factors consultant, my dream job and dream life for when I grow up is quite clear, at least in my mind.

Everything I used in this collage came from my overcrowded scrap bin, with the exception of the ribbon and the printer paper.  I decided on white paper because it matched the little girl's outfit.

Here I show I want to sing at the top of my voice, love and be loved.

This represents both my days as a consultant, and my new life centered around mixed media art.  I made this ATC sized piece from various papers, a dictionary definition, and scraps I put together.  The "7" represents the 7th prompt.

I also want to make art from the heART, something important to me now.  Of course, I want to teach as I learn, too.

Last Friday I started my annual book I make during the NBA All-Stars weekend.   I had several of these hearts and one crown left over.  I thought they were quite appropriate to show how much heART I'm capable of.

This shows I want to afford others the opportunities I've been given, which goes hand in hand with my desire to give back more than I receive.

Of course, it all centers around the coffee I drink all day and all night.

And in case you can't read what I wrote:

When I grow up, I want

to give more than I receive,

afford others the same
opportunities I’ve had,

love and be loved,

sing at the top of my lungs,

consult,   teach,

make great art from the heART,

and drink lots of creamy coffee.
What I left out was the fact that I feel I am living that life right now, at least for the most part.  I feel I receive far more than I give, the only part I need to work on.

Thanks for visiting.  Remember, the rules are at Journal 52, where you'll also find each weekly prompt.  Be aware, however, if you want lots of people to visit and praise your art, you must join Facebook and/or Flickr, neither of which I belong to.

Oh, well. Here I am visiting and praising your art! I love this page. I must say you are braver than I am about putting my feelings up for view, lol. I don't know where you get all these lovely collage elements, but wherever it is , I want to go there

WOW, I love this so much! What a fun theme for this week. This is so sweet, you do give us so much Elizabeth, thank you for that. I love hearts too, the more the happier I am. How awesome to turn your heart into art, so cool! Lovely page dear friend!

I bet there are others out there that are taking this and post them to their blogs. It would be neat to see what others are doing for this weeks' prompt.

I meant to tell you that I did see your comment on my PL post. Thank you and sorry it took 3 times for it to work. Not sure why but glad you didn't give up.

Also have some fun things to share about TEA. While at Barnes and Nobles last week. I read thru a mixed media magazine and saw a cute art journal page with tea bags on it. I didn't get time to really read it due to the kids being done and ready to go. But she had taken the tea wrappers and put them all on a page, different kinds she had tried and painted on them and wrote about them. It looked so cool. Hoping to go back and find it again.

Also, on my Instagram thru my phone I've been come friends with a lady who collects coffee cups from around the world. She will send you one from her state if you send her one from yours. It's so cool to see the ones she's getting. I haven't joined in yet, but might have too eventually.

The temps are warm these last couple days, YAY!! Hope you are doing good and warm too. HUGS!

Beautiful and heART-full, overflowing post. While I am not quite retired from the work deal yet, I too feel like you, put good energy out there and spark someone's creativity.....that's my heART goal. xox

I do not know how I missed this. I think since i was doing Joanne Sahrpe's class i closed my mind. Yesterday I stumbled into her blog and thought wow i will do that signed on to FB and then saw that I knew many of the people there. It all came back last night and I am so happy. Now to DO.
Your post and Krisha's were the needed kick in the pants.

You did such a great job with this challenge. I like the pages and I like your idea of "grownup". I sense you DO accomplish the giving part more than you realize. You certainly give here on your blog.

I had to visit your J52 page! I think it is awesome! I love how you listed things, instead of just one thing. Since I'm skipping week 7, for now, I have lots of time to think about this one!!
