Journal 52, Week 5: Abstract Art

I thought this post was not going to happen, because my electricity went out about 9:30 Tuesday night my time and didn't come on until about 8 pm Wednesday night.  It took another eight hours for my office to warm to 40 degrees F (4.44 degrees C), which was barely warm enough for me to scan this week's Journal 52 prompt provided by Chelle.  To make matters worse, I don't doodle, and I'm not very good at abstract art.

None-the-less, here is my entry which I call "Out of the box."

 The 5 signifies week 5.  You might say I doodled with my paint brush when I made the circles, as well as

the box the circles flew out of.

I used cheap acrylic paint (in little bottles from the craft store) that I spread on the file folder using a credit card as suggested by Chelle.  However, instead of wiping the paint as thin as possible, I allowed some of the paint to pool together to create a bit of texture.  I used the handle of a paint brush to make the circles and box, as well as the dots I placed inside the circles.  I purposely made the black as grungy as possible, hoping it would add to the abstract feel.

Now I'm off to snuggle with Bleubeard and hope for warmth.
