WOYWW 242: The one where she gets organized for playtime
Today I'm joining Julia, our beloved head Desker, along with other Deskers for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday. Just click on her name and links to other Deskers around the world will magically appear in a new window.
Since Julia likes to keep things short and sweet, I've started today by showing the requisite rocking horses, which most of you come to see, this week's made of wood. BTW, this is the FIRST photo taken with my new camera I unveiled during WOYWW 241.
To prove I haven't pushed anything aside, I took a wide view of my table. Note WOYWWendy, the camera hog, is waving to everyone.
While gathering items to use with my new Gelli, I ran across this large container in my basement studio.
Everything fits perfectly, and I still have room for more surface design tools. As an aside, I keep my brayer(s) together in another place, as well as surface design tools I use for molding paste and joint compound. I now have a place for everything and everything's in its place.
Thanks for leaving your number if you are coming from Julia's. Even with so many number changes last week, it was still SO MUCH EASIER to find each of you.

I'll be interested to see what you do with the Gelli plate. Did you buy a genuine one? or were you tempted to make one? (as I have heard others do.)

I love when I find things in my home that I can use to store crafting supplies. #2
How super organized you are! I should make you my inspiration but you've got a whole house to fit everything in! :^) patsy # 8 I think

Ah, well I have only heard good things about them. And there is so much help on the www if you need it too :)
My friend, Sandra de, is going to lend me hers one of these days. When I clear a space :)
Very impressive. Monica would be proud (reference to Friends - I judge from your title you are a Friends fan - if not - just ignore it). I am jealous. My crafting area is a hot mess. :-) April #11
You look very organized and tidy! Happy WOYWW! Helen #15
Ok, you've got it all together nicely, but what are you going to do to the rockers? They are adorable like they are.......just saying. Is it going to be paint, collage or mixed media?
Don't ya just love it when you find a perfect contain and you didn't have to leave home?
Loved the post Elizabeth
until later

No.1 - Sweet!! I can but dream...thanks for swinging by my blog earlier, glad you still like the stand. I love the rocking horses this week, ripe for decorating. I also love how neat your desk is. The new camera seems to be working out well. Cx #18
AAAAAAH another Geliprint maker...watching this space...#25
Good luck with the gelli printing - it seems very addictive once you start... Love the wooden rocking horses, this week. Well done on top spot, and thanks for visiting already. Helen 23
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the gelli plate. I don't have one, so I can have gelli envy, since you have thermofax envy! BTW my workdesk is as usual a pigsty. Yours is always so tidy!
I'm so anxious to see what you do with your gelli! I love mine, but I just can't find enough time to play with it...So many ideas, so little time.
I love those rocking horses, such a sweet and simple outline, perfect for the woodworker to cut! Am full of admiration for your gelli preparation too, and that you have a mixed media tool section. Good grief, I thought my stuff was fairly well categorized, even if it doesn't look it!
I'd love to see what you do with the gelli. I'm awaiting a delivery of glycerine to make one this weekend.
Congrats on the #1!
Happy woyww

Love those rocking horses and can't wait to see how they develop. Haven't succumbed to the Gelli plate......yet.
Back after a long break away and getting stamping again.

A crafter can never have enough storage containers - and isn't it great when you just happen to find one for free?! Cute rocking horses.
Bernice #43
My space is full of large comtainers...but in my case it's b**** boxes lol...and hopefully mine are only temporary.
Love your wooden horses.
Hugs,

Love your sweet wood horses! Wonderful new things are arrived and well safed :) Looking Forward to see your gelli art.
Greetings from Erika
I love 'finding' craft equipment, or thinking u new uses for something. It seems like double the entertainment value somehow! But I especially love having all my tools in one place, ready to hand so I don't have to waste time searching for stuff..that's the thing I hate most!!
Cool little rocking horses there...they're lovely for being plain wood. How many do you have now? Don't answer that question :-)
Hugs, LLJ 38 xx
Looks like you are poised and ready to go. Get busy and mess up that desk! Happy WOYWW!
Glenda #53

Well, Elizabeth, you are in for some fun there - great stuff! How beautifully tidy your area looks - but I must remember that jealousy is a sin....
Thanks for visiting already.

LOL! It'll never last :) I have two shelves worth of "tools" for printing and no end in site. I cannot wait to see your prints. I'm betting they are going to be such fun. You know you COULD press that wooden horse into the plate.... :D
Happy WOYWW!

Very tidy. I've read about gelli plates here and elsewhere but don't have a really good idea of how they work. You will give us a great tutorial at some point won't you?
Darla
The word organize fills me with dread! ROFL Must get round to some shortly ;)

This must be the week for uncovering hidden treasures, nearly as much fun as the brand new. Happy crafting with those! It's fun to be back to WOYWW.
I am hoping to create enough room on my desk today to allow me to use my second and larger Gelli plate as well as the smaller one. I love the different things you can do with them and all the different things you can use on them. One little tip for you, if you don't already know - every so often it is a good idea to rub a little baby oil into the plate before you put it back into its pack, otherwise they get a bit dry and don't work as well. That tip came from Barbara Gray after some of hers in Workshop lessons stopped working as they should. Love your wooden rocking horses and look forward to seeing what you do with them. xx Maggie #21
Drooling over your rocking horse! So nice! What an orderly desk there, and such a stash of sponges! Stay warm!! Winnie#68
Hi Elizabeth...I think there are a few of us who'll be interested to see what you do with your new Gelli...I have one too and lovely friend gave me as a gift and I need Help, lots, so I'll be back to check. Have fun with our new found stash Cheers RobynO#69

I have never used a gelli plate--I think I need to learn how this year. Your horses are sooo cute. I get really excited when I find new storage containers in my own house for a great new use. Fun! Sandy Leigh #80
Thank you for the early visit. I am finally home from school and return the visit. The horses are too cute, wonder what they would look like if you altered them?
The tags I made were cut with my Silhouette Cameo, I think the cut file was a freebie I picked up from the many talented designers that share.
Happy WOYWW!

Hi Elizabeth, waves to WOYWWWendy, and hugs to Bleubeard. Life is so much easier when you can put your hand on what you want quickly, I agree. Smiled at your comment about number editing, when I linked this morning I was 33, which is the number I've been telling everyone. Just happened to notice, I'm now 31!Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #31 XX
Great pics with your new toy I can see you are going to enjoy playing with it
Janet @9
Wow, you surely are organized. The rocking horses are cute, how are you going to embellish them? You're not going to leave the poor things plain, are you? ;-)
Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier and for the nice comments.
Happy Woyww,

#84... since I can't ever remember to do that. Your table is wide open and ready for you to play. I guess we shall stay tuned to see what becomes of the wooden rocking horses. Something spectacular I'm sure!
Is that polystyrene in your gelli plate box? Not thought of using polystyrene on my gelli plate yet... watch this space!
Happy Wednesday

I see Stampendous have brought out something similar to a Gelli Plate. Interesting to see how you find it.
Love the tidiness and of course the rocking horses look magnificent taken with your new camera. Hope you are enjoying it.
Love to you and Bleubeard.
Neet 87 xx
I could use you to help me organize all my supplies. Mr. G is awesome at organizing but he sees my stash as junk so he'd have a mind to pitch most of it.
I did organize some fabric, yarn, trims and sewing notion yesterday. Was quite gratifying to see it all in its place.
Really interesting to see how it unfolds. Don't forget to take pics of the finished product! By the way, rocking horses are awesome:)
