Today is the final T Tuesday during AEDM. I know some of you have wanted to join in, so now is your chance. Although we hold this fun tea inspired event every Tuesday (as I've mentioned in the past, it actually goes live on Monday in my part of the world, but it may be Tuesday in yours), this is the final week it will be featured on AEDM, a month long event I'm also participating in.
Because I'm not big on "rules," I ask only that you please mention you are linking to Bleubeard and Elizabeth's T Stands for Tuesday, as well as any other meme (like AEDM) you participate in today. Also please make the post relevant. Unless you're participating in AEDM, your photos don't have to be shot on Tuesday, but please use your direct URL post when you link below, not just your blog address.
Every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I use these dishes. They belonged to my grandmother, who had several beautiful sets of dishes far more elegant than these, but these were her favorite for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The pattern is called "Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe," and I have shown the entire set on my blog before. In a way, they really DO remind me of these two holidays, so I continue the tradition.
I'm waiting for the water to come to a boil, then I will add the tea bag of Therapeutic Mint Tea. It sounds wonderful and was sent to me by Marianne at Ruff Haven.
When I removed these photos from my camera, I was shocked that I had not taken a photo of the tea laden with half and half. I was sure I had, but the photos were nowhere on the card. My apologies, but you need to know this tea not only tasted good, it smelled like heaven in a bag, too.
So, please don't forget to photograph what you are drinking or arting today. Then link below and enjoy visiting our small community of T(ea) Tuesday participants.
Today is also Day 26
of AEDM.

Oh my mother and I have colluded over the years, so that we've each got china sets that the other would have if there was a crisis that involved inheritance!! I love that you have and use your grandma's. And that's as close as I can get...mint tea makes me feel giddy at the thought, too much mint in one place..bluergh!!
Sweet traditions, lovely china. xox
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving ...such beautiful china, and cherished memories...spent with dear friends will make it even better. Don't work too hard dear! hugs...
Love the dishes... and it is so nice to have family traditions!
Beautiful pattern on the tea set. Have a great Thanksgiving.
Happy T Day!! I love that you do this every year, how sweet. My grandma gave me a few of Christmas dishes and glasses a long time ago and I do like pulling them out to use on occasion.
I'm glad you enjoyed your tea and how nice when it smells good too.
We woke up to just a little bit of snow today. Will make it fun when driving Renee to her ortho appt. and get her braces off, YAY!! She is double excited and said she may not be able to sleep.
Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for sharing your Tuesday's with us.
You're almost to the end of AEDM, WAY TO GO MY FRIEND!!
What a lovely tradition and such beautiful dishes. I have a beautiful oil lamp from my Great Grandmother that I treasure very much. Happy T for Tuesday.
Note: Sorry but I linked up the wrong post first... sorry
love me :-)
You forgot to take a picture of the tea, hmmm--I think you were just distracted and couldn't wait for it to cool off enough to drink it, that's what I think. LOL
Sounds like a good one. I have some dried mint and dried lavender from my garden and may have to make a cup of lavender mint tea. Sounds good but it may taste like crap -- herbs can be tricky.
I love the tradition of using your grandmothers dishes. We eat thanksgiving dinner off my mothers china (which is from Germany--which honors my husbands heritage, funny how that worked out).
Happy T to you and feel better, this cold is a royal bit**

that is a very special set of dishes ... It's so nice to continue the tradition, your grandmother would've loved it!
I like the fact that you use a certain set of china for the two big holidays. Tradition is part of the celebrating for me.
I'll bet that tea was delicious, you have me thinking mint this morning.

I love using "family" dishes. I have my MIL's Wedgewood "Countryside" set that I love and a few pieces of her MIL's set of Stangle "Garland" I love dragging these out for special occasions. The tea sounds devine :)
Beautiful dish set. I too love using vintage pieces handed down by grand and great grand parents for my holidays. I love a good mint tea earlier in the day but my choice for today is chamomile.Happy T day and thanks for hosting!
Lovely transferware. I'm skipping T Tuesday this week...I'm fighting a stomach bug. Have to be better for Thursday...I'm hosting!! So much to do and I feel like crap.
sweet Elizabeth, I searched your sidebars looking for a way to contact you but you don't have your profile linked to your email so the only way I can contact you is here. I wish I could take credit for the tea but I have never had that tea so I am pretty certain it did not come from me. I sent you Tazo, Yogi, and Traditional Medicinals.
Your tea cup is lovely and so precious because it once belonged to a loved one.
I am not joining T today. I am still unwinding from a recent vacation.
They have different pictures on them--how cool is that? (I had to go back and look, so thanks for the link.) What a nice tradition. :)
My sister loves mint tea. I'm sure she would enjoy this quite a lot.
The tea cup looks so beautiful and the memories behind it are so rich.
Elizabeth, Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving holiday.

Happy T day E! and have a glorious Thanksgiving.. all my best to you and Bleubeard..xx
Lovely tea set, Elizabeth. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Bleubeard and all the family. Warm hugs from Nan and The Girls
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I'm thankful for our connection! xo
I love tea and tea pots. I actually have a whole journal full of them. Perhaps when AEDM is over and term is finished, I can start adding them here on tues. By the way, the markers are just promarkers or copics, I just didn't give a brand name
Happy Thanksgiving dear Elizabeth! Hope it is wonderful and fun. I'm waiting for brother to roll in from St. Louis. He has driven through rain all day. We will have rain all tonight and tomorrow but so far it has not iced. Hugs to you and Bleubeard.

I followed the link and saw what a pretty set of dishes this is. I have brownware from my great grandmother and those dishes are very special to me!
