WOYWW 219: the one where she asks forgiveness

I'm beginning today with a request that you forgive me for not visiting many of you last week.  Some may have seen my post about my internet being out for nearly three days due to flooding in my area.  I tried to catch up, but it was simply impossible.

Next, I want to ask for Julia's forgiveness, because this is NOT a quick post like I usually offer.  I'm an in-and-out kind of gal, but not today.  That's because today I have something I want to share with you.

Over the weekend, Bleubeard and I received this lovely package from Kimberly Hogan, whose blog is called Happy Homeschool Room.  I promised I would open it during WOYWW, and that is why WOYWWendy is so happy (and had to jump into camera range).
Once open, I saw this box was full of wonderful goodies, along with a sweet note from Kimmie.

It soon became obvious I would be unable to get everything on the table at the same time.  I fell in love with the rocking horse papers that will find their way in my rocking horse AB.

That's when I had to make room for the remainder of the goodies.  BUT WAIT!!

This darling rocker I had oohed and aahed about on Kimmie's desk one Wednesday

now belonged to me.  Kimmie, you have NO idea how happy this and all the other wonderful things you have sent me made me feel today.  You have truly MADE my day!!  What a perfect day it is.

What an incredible feeling to have other WOYWWers/deskers care so much.  And, for that I am grateful to Julia, our loving host who made it all possible in the first place.

Sorry this was so long, but I needed to apologize for my seeming lack of caring last week, even though it was circumstances beyond my control.  So, if you are coming from Julia's please leave your number.

Thanks for your kind comment re the Bird Book Swap. Oh, and Tombows are just a brand name for a double ended marker, the forerunner, I guess, to today's really expensive Copics, or THs Distress Markers. You get the picture :)

Sorry, it's me back again! I have read that Mark Hadden book Darcy reviewed a few years back before our son's diagnosis and it's wonderful. There's also a play of it over here. I am really stunned by the lack of support and understanding so far in the UK. He's been trying to look for work but finds interviews really hard and he's been refused support and told by our job centre 'Just see how it goes' - how can you say that to someone with ASD? We feel a bit abandoned at present, but we'll win through - he is an amazing boy and I am blessed in him! Thanks for being a friend. Julie Ann xx #39

Being without the internet makes me wonder how we ever managed before it came along. Was chatting with DS just today about it and trying to explain how difficult it was to use before the URL was created. He struggled to believe people actually used it then!

What a great little parcel to receive from such a generous friend, and that little rocking horse is just so perfect. Thank you for your visit this week. You are right - I am very excited. It is just shame that the insurance company had to take the edge off by charging me a small fortune to change the vehicle on the policy, and even more to add my 38 year old policeman son to the policy. Then, even worse, I have to spend an even higher amount of money to tax it. Oh well, the money is not making any return in the bank. xx Maggie #116

Hello Elizabeth.
What a gorgeous parcel from Kimmie - and your post wasn't long at all!! Enjoy everything in the gift - lots of lovely treasures.
Thanks for visiting - and in answer to your question - yes, I do sleep - but I do like to be a useful addition to our church, and not just a passenger or pew filler - so am happy to do things like the catering 'cos that's not something that sends me into dire stress. My art and craft work, which I just love doing, is my main relaxation thing - although I am happy to sell stuff if folk like it. I actually describe myself as having a "polyfilla ministry". Do you know polyfilla? It's gungy stuff for filling gaps. I am capable in several different areas - not brilliant, but capable - so when a gap needs filling - guess where the church looks??!!
Have a great week.

Great parcel from Kimmie! Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by and leaving such encouraging words. Happy WOYWW week. Sorry my comments are a bit late this week. It's not just Margaret who gets busy for the church - I attended a church council meeting this morning, and as secretary I had to take all the minutes. Mmm better think about writing them up I suppose ...

Oh Elizabeth, what an absolutely gorgeous parcel to receive in the post from Kimmie! You must have had such fun opening it and discovering all its contents, and as for the darling little horse - he is cute beyond words!!

Thank you for your lovely comment. Yes, I feel incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful new room, and having a zone for textile and fibre art means that I shall have my sewing machine working again, and I can expand my mixed media into textiles - sooo much to think about and get excited about, I'm like a child in a toyshop before Christmas!!

I've been having awful problems with blogger over the past couple of days, not letting me post comments so I hope this goes through OK. (Hence the delay in replying).

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I can scarcely believe it but I think the meds may be working already, even though the doc said 2-4 weeks before I noticed anything.

Happy belated WOYWW,
