WOYWW 217: the one where she does rework

Keeping it short and sweet, I'm joining Julia at Stamping Ground again for the greatest Wednesday blog hop on the planet.  I'd like to apologize for not visiting everyone last week like I did the week before, but a really nasty storm rolled through my neighborhood, creating lightening, high winds, rains, flooding, and hail.  And not just for one day, but three!!  That meant my computer was shut down, too.  And it's raining here this afternoon, too!

This week, rocking horse and desk work are one and the same. I'm doing a bit of rework on one of my wooden rocking horses.  WOYWWendy is assisting.  I had planned to use E6000, but I remembered my friend Kathy said this stuff, called "The Ultimate!," which I had never heard of until she gave me a little bit that was left in her nearly empty container, would "glue a cat's butt by nothing more than his fur to a ceiling."  So, I guess it's appropriate, because both Wendy and I know how the "mane" came loose from this gentle, defenseless rocker.   Has anyone seen the "bleu"-grey offender?

If visiting from WOYWW, please include your number.

Forget your number.  Apparently Julia is sleeping through this nightmare called "no linky."  At least it wasn't an anniversary or anything.

I can't find your email, so here it is, when we did the 1st drawing my daughter drew your name. Then I saw a sheet of paper with 8 names on it that didn't go in the drawing. So to be fair, we re-did the drawing. So I actually have a little something for you as well. And no, I am not making this up. So if you email me your details, I have a do have a prize package for you as well. I wanted the drawing to be fair, but technically you were the 1st name drawn. I didn't write into my post cuz i figured it was too fussy to explain. My email is happyhomeschoolroom@gmail.com So please send me your details and I can send you your surprise as well. (((HUGS)))

Wow...Sorry to hear about the storms in your area. I love what your friend said about the Ultimate Crafters Glue, funny. I have a bottle and it works great. Thanks for stopping by.

Best not to be using the computer when storms are around. I know a few people that learnt that the hard way. What a gorgeous old rocking horse and I would love to hear your verdict on the glue you are using. Happy WOYWW! Danie http://www.d-dazzledscraps.com/2013/07/woyww-217.html

Just love that rocking horse.

Maybe it's Bluebeards doppelganger!! I use that same glue all the time and I love it. Poor little rocker, with no mane.
Your summer storm sounds scary, but glad your safe and your PC is up and running again.

Hello, for a long long time! Quite a sympathetic-looking rocking horse! And a glue I've never heard of... That was partly the reason I never got your AB lessons completed - there are so different supplies in US than here in Finland. But the main reason was, that your lessons were so inspirational, that I got too many new ideas... So I started with new books! Thank you for the lessons - they were too good ;D

Loving this rocking horse who I hope will soon be as good as new! I use E6000 too, but the warnings on the tube always terrify me, but it's amazing stuff so I can't think of an alternative!!! Actually you've reminded me that there's only a tiny amount left in the tube! Must re-order. I found a little old rocking horse which I must alter and show you soon. Happy woyww. Hope that linky gets sorted sooon - looks like you would have been no 1??? Julie Ann xx maybe 47??? xxx

Poor little rocking horse, but I am sure you are aligning poor defenceless Bleubeard. Must-have been someone else, probably some giant spider, looking for a nest for her eggs. Have a good week. xx Maggie

I under if they sell the ultimate in the states? Great description. I once told my sister my cat was scared of a wet noodle...she got me when she asked how I knew that!... Does sound just the ticket for rocking horse manes tho. The linky is up on the blog, so I'll just sign Sara j, # 7 (which will never happen again I'm sure)

Julia Dunnit said...

Link is up. Dunno what I didn't do - I could see it on the html but it didn't publish. And too right - I was sleeping - I scheduled it for 2am in Britain!

Ha, it makes me smile that Mr Bluebeard may have had a need to be jealous over the mane, perhaps he wants to be a hippy long haired cat now? I did once buy a tube of E6000 so I do know of it's power. Only used it once, it was kind of too much of a commitment for a crafter!

He didn't do it, really he didn't because Yoda can give him an alibi, serious. Always good to get recommendations regarding glue

Hello Elizabeth, and the very naughty Bleubeard, we've had storms to, bad enough to necessitate the shutting down of the computer ... if only because I worry that the power surge thingy wouldn't do it's job and protect my PC. Lovely rocking-horse and I'm impressed with the reputed capabilities of 'The Ultimate' ... heaven help the cat whose butt was used for testing purposes :)) Elizabeth x #16

I haven't heard of that glue before - sounds like awesome stuff! We've had some thunder storms here as well this week, but my laptop was away getting fixed, so I couldn't use it anyway - you don't realise how much you depend on it, 'til its not working!

LOLOL! I'm so going to use that phrase for everything now...Strong enough to glue a cat's butt etc etc!!! I've just got this vision of dangling puss cats!
Poor old Bleubeard..he must have had a hissy fit to have done that. But CBG will stick it back ok :-)
And yes, it IS a good camera..it's my husbands. I saved up all year to buy it for his birthday last December. It's a Canon EOS 7 and his face when he opened was amazing. I enjoy using it too, though I'm not completely au fait with all the techy stuff!
Hugs, LLJ 20 xx

I love Ultimate glue - taken to using it recently and yes it does stick. Guess Bleubeard had better watch out after your friend's description of its properties.
Sorry to hear of the storms, we have had really heavy rain these last few days - guess our summer is over - three weeks though - we did well.
Hugs, Neet 19 xx (not sending him anything though, but reluctantly)

In answer to your question, yes Elizabeth, they do make a turbo powered spider catcher - The Spider & Insect Vac with new Turbo Booster by Bug Buster, and I found it on Amazon. If you cannot get one, then you will have to train Bleubeard. By the way, I don't turn my computer off in a storm as all my electronic equipment is plugged in via protected sockets. Have a good week xx Maggie

What a smashing rocking horse and perfect toy for a cat to play with. I'm sure Bleubeard would simple say 'If you put a toy down on the floor for me to play with, don't complain when I do' they are never around when something has happen are they.
Have fun with repairing the horse.

Hi Elizabeth, Happy WOYWW!

I love the rocking horse, and if that glue is as good as you hope it will be child proof as well as cat proof!

Could do with some of that, though I am prone to sticking myself to things!

im sure that adorable rocking horse is in the hands of a good hands on healer (thats you , not your cat hehe). did that even make sense ? I hope so . I have never heard of that glue but then again i have never bought es6000. I bought some gorilla glue once . never used it . it got hard as a rock still in the bottle. I ended up chunking it

Beloved Hubby bought surge protected sockets, and UPS( Uninterrupted Powers Supplys) for all our pc's, but then he's a bit of a geek, so he would, rofl! I'm sure Bleubeard was trying to make friends and play with the rocking horse- or knowing cats, was making sure the rocking horse knew who was boss! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz xx #22

I'm late at visiting, and I missed last week too. You found something better than E6000!!!! I have to try it out. I love the rocking horse and that precious, innocent bleubeard caused that??? Luckily you aren't going to try out Kathy's claim, although it really is a cute way to describe some good glue. I'm still laughing over that one. Hope you see the sun soon and your weather gets better. Rasz #142

Lovely to see your dear little rocking horse getting a makeover. The picture of the cat stuck to the ceiling is beyond imagining lol! I can just see how ours would react to that!!

Thanks for your lovely comment. Not so very very belated - I don't consider a WOYWW comment late if it's made before 11.59 p.m. on Tuesday ha ha!!

Yes, things are shaping up in my new room. I've just posted today's update and it's looking good! I even started to move a couple of things in today but don't tell the electrician or Andy the big white chief who have still got work to do in there lol!

Happy not so belated WOYWW,

Oh wow she/he is beautiful, such a gorgeous traditional rocking horse. Sounds like some mega fantastic glue, might have to look out to see if we have any here in the UK. I hope all of you are ok after the weather, we are so lucky here in the UK, on one of the discovery channels last week they was doing a weather special all week, well I taped most of them and slowly looking through them all and wow mother nature is certainly not to be messed with. Happy late woyww :-) Kezzy xxx
