This is a test, nothing more, nothing less

I bought this little camera last year on clearance when my friend Sally and I were out and about looking at cameras.  It was $30.00 (USD) on clearance.  I never used it, nor did I ever install the software that was needed to use it.  It doesn't have a memory card, so I got it out today and decided to take a few photos to see what it was like.

I thought the close-ups on my other camera were poor!  This is downright awful.  Although you can't read it, the photos show where to install the THREE triple A (AAA) batteries.  It also reads: Important: Do not use rechargeable batteries.

Now anyone who knows me, knows I don't own anything except rechargeable batteries.  Anything else is a waste of good money.  And as luck would have it, I have a ton of AAA and AA rechargeable batteries.

So I decided to see what this camera would do from arm's length,

elbow length,

and up close and personal.  This camera sucks even worse than the other one.  I know, you're going to tell me to get a new camera.  Let's hope this time I go hunting for a camera, I find one that will take batteries I already own (AA or AAA), and a memory card I have a slot for.

After all, I have lots of removable disks, as well as four different sized card slots.  And yes, I took this photo while waiting for the camera software to install.

Poor Elizabeth...I am not using my old camera, and it does use rechargeable batteries. If you would pay shipping and insurance for it, I'll send it to you. It's a Kodak 612. Let me know if you are interested. Waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥

Geez, most cell phones take better photos than that. I think I'd take Sandee up on her offer, sounds pretty good to me. I have a little Canon Power Shot camera that takes a pretty good picture and I paid less than a $100 for it a couple years ago. Have fun shopping! It's, probably the batteries that are going to make it harder to find a camera but maybe not. Good luck.

And there's no button to click for macro or anything? That's awful! I think I'd take Sandee up on her generous offer, too. :)

oh shucks, it goes from bad to worse! Time to replace your camera and have a chance of getting photos of your art. It's been a problem for a while now. Most new cameras don't take batteries as such, they have a solid rechargeable battery in them... well, all of ours do, so you aren't committed to the running costs of AA batteries. For the price of the postage, you should take Sandee's lovely offer and give it a go!! :)

oh gawd, this is horrible! my first digi camera was a vivitar (because it was such good value) and it was marvellous...took me while to stop missing it, so this is a real surprise. yep, time to bung this on ebay and find something that suits you better, I must say it will be a lot of fun..i spent some hours going round letting earnest young men demonstrate the small cheap cameras to me..!!
