Thyme for Herb Day at the County Extension Facilty

I originally planned to show these photos during Silent Sunday, then remembered yesterday was Cinco de Mayo.  Thus the reason these are a bit late showing up on my blog.

To be honest, I don't have a whole lot to say about this day because it was rainy, cold, wet, windy, wet, and miserable.  Did I mention it rained all day?  Even the outdoor vendors left early.  That's why you don't see any photos of the outside vendors.  I didn't even take my camera out for outside shots until Sally and I got to the restaurant (which I'll share tomorrow).

Worthy causes interspersed

with vendors selling all types of wares.

Friendly volunteers to help as needed and pass out information.

Everything from metal to pottery

and beyond.

Much hustle and bustle.  No one stood still

even when they were buying plants.

It was pretty obvious I bought a few.  Eight to be exact.  Nothing but herbs and one bush.  Most perennial, so they'll be around awhile.  I sure hope I don't kill the lemon grass or the eucalyptus.

Have a super Monday.  Enjoy your weather.  It couldn't have been worse here! But as I promised on Saturday, I would brave anything to go to Herb Day at the County Extension Facility.

Herbs are special enough for me to brave bad weather too. I love them. Glad you had a good time and hope the weather gets better soon.

Shame about the weather as that can certainly put a damper (pun intended) on outdoor events...at least they did have some inside stuff planned too.

New plants are always exciting.

We visited friends that moved into a nice little house in Washington DC and I was amazed to see a good sized
eucalyptus growing hear the curb...I did not realize it was hardy in our grow zone ... good luck with yours E.

Too bad it wasn't a nicer day, but looks like you got some beautiful herbs! I hope they all grow well for you. :)
