Tea Tuesday: Legends

On Saturday my friend Sally and I went to Herb Day and Farmer's Market at the County Extension Facility.  Since it rained all day, I didn't take any outdoor photos of the event.  The sky temporarily brightened and the rain subsided about the time we got to the restaurant.

Not one of our usual haunts, this restaurant is attached to a hotel at the airport.

You could see where cars had parked earlier.  We were a bit late for lunch, but that didn't matter.

I panned my camera around hoping to get a photo of an airplane I heard overhead.  All I saw was a bunch of uninspired buildings that apparently did business at the airport.

You don't need to tell me my camera SUCKS.  It has for a long time!  Since about 2000, in fact.  But I took a photo of the menu, anyway.  In fact, I took six photos, but this was the best.  Although the menu stated the Lunch Buffet was from Monday through Friday, they had a baked potato and chilli buffet

which sounded like heaven to me.  The chilli had meat in it, so I opted for a large potato with extra sour cream.  After all, it was build your own and I had built mine to the ceiling.  I set my plate down and remembered to take a photo, then got the idea to use this fun outing for my Tea Tuesday post.  It doesn't matter when you take the photos, as long as you put the word Tea (or other drink) into the post title and post it on Tuesday.

That's when I got up and took a photo of the entire meal I chose.  You can tell I haven't started yet, because I can't sit down without a napkin in my lap.  Even if it's a paper towel, I have to have something in my lap or I feel naked.  Sally and I both opted for coffee and it was wonderful.  Our gracious server provided us with lots of half and half, which is the only way I'll drink coffee.  I can't drink powdered or mostly-corn-syrup "creamer."

As we were leaving, it occurred to me that I should take some photos of the restaurant.  It was a typical hotel restaurant, but it had been a long time since I've been to one, especially since Sally likes to stay in our neighborhood for lunch.

Unfortunately, she was hurrying me to leave, so this was not the best photo.  However, it was better than the other one I took.  The staff was preparing for the dinner crowd when we left, since we were obviously the last of the lunch crowd in the restaurant, although there were several patrons sitting at the bar in another room.

Have a super Tuesday and join us if you like with your favorite drink.  We'd love to have you along for the trip.

Hi Elizabeth! Just stopping in to see what my Wichita friend is up to. My husband loves eating at Legends. I really enjoyed your visit to your friend with all the birds. I love all those little wicker bird houses. Isn't it nice to have the river up again? I am enjoying the green too!

Have a great rest of the week!

Now I'm thinking a Baked Potato would be great for lunch lol. With the last of my mache salad : D. And some iced Pear Luna tea. I better go spray the weeds with vinegar because other wise I might eat lunch less than an hour after breakfast lol.

I enjoy lunch with a friend. In fact today is one of those days. Never heard of Legends, they don't have them down here, but it sounded and looked good. Have a great day.

A baked potato bar sounds right up my alley! Although I probably would leave off the sour cream--I know that is the best part. We once went to a pizza buffet where everything including dessert was served on some sort of pizza shell.
