Artful Tea

It's cold and raining here, but this morning I'm in my craft room, turning up the heat with a bit of very strong coffee, a paintbrush, and a piece of scrap cardstock.  I'm going to re-purpose the coffee, on this, the second day of my 22 days of recycled, re-purposed, or reused ideas posts.  I hope to get everyone in the mood for Tea Tuesday and also excited about making crafts that will actually help save the planet by keeping things out of the landfill.

Isn't this lovely?  I can't believe the subtle differences in this off-cut of cardstock, even though the coffee isn't quite dry in places.  I plan to make two tags for use later in the month.

I hope you'll join me in celebrating Tea Tuesday, and enjoy whatever drink enthuses you today.  Show what you're drinking, or show art.  It doesn't matter.  We'll love you for it and visit, too!

Today is Day 2 of saving our planet and I used old coffee and a strip of scrap cardstock.

seeing your re-use of left-over coffee makes me feel good inside. ;) the coffee does make a pretty wash. i'm looking forward to seeing what other re-inventions you have in mind. thx for the inspiration

Now I don't like coffee to drink, but it looks like an awesome medium to paint with! Looking forward to seeing the tags you make from it! Stay warm, it's chilly over here too! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥

Hi Elizabeth,

The right corner looks like copper and very shiny. I agree with the recycling; one of my favorite places to go is a local thrift store to find goodies that I can use in my crafts.

Hugs,
Kay

Although not a coffee drinker, I often brew some up to stain with--I just love the brown variations!

Haven't joined in for Tea day in so long, I miss it. I still drink tea but actually I have turned to coffee in the mornings. Don't know why. It is what it is. Love how coffe or tea for that matter, stains. Good recycle and reuse project you started.
I recently took doors off my kitchen cabinets and used one to make a chalkboard for menus etc. Love it.

Playing with your coffee instead of drinking it?!?! WOW. Must have been the bottom of the pot. Looking forward to the tags.
btw--remember to send me that email.
