Fortune tea?

Please remember I can't leave comments on any Blogger blog with embedded text.  To change comments, scroll to the end of this post to see how to do it.  I also can't see any links, so please bear with me while I attempt to correct this problem that has plagued me for over a month.

Since I'm now back on my regular schedule, I had to get up early this morning to have tea.  While making it, I thought I would start a few bird assemblages

like this one,

this one,

or this one I've made in the past.

So I got out my foam mat I use for stamping, and my ice pick.  I could have used my self healing mat, but since I push the pick quite far to expand the hole in the tin, it often leaves a hole in the self healing mat.

Of course, I actually had a deeper purpose for drinking this loose leaf tea called Fancy Tropicana, which begins with Ceylon black tea, to which marigold petals, thistle, rose petals, cornflowers, and mallow flowers are added.  I wanted to see if I could tell my fortune.  Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, one of the things my guests and I discussed was whether you can look at tea leaves and see your fortune.  My problem was, I had so many leaves and flowers in that mug, I had to remove some of the petals before I could get to the tea leaves.

Once I drank the tea, my fortune was revealed.

Of course, I have no idea what my fortune is, or what these leaves are trying to tell me (except they want to join my compost pile), so I should probably stick with these assemblages and wish you a very happy (and fortunate) tea Tuesday.  Please join me, along with other Tea Tuesday participants, if you like.

What a fun post Elizabeth...your bird assemblages are wonderful...our local mixed media group keeps meaning to play with some of those again

fun how your tea post went to reading tea leaves and that you referred back to Thanksgiving...my post today was Thanksgiving themed :)

I do not know where time is going!
We were gone for a long weekend and it feels like I am another week behind...never quite got caught up from our CO trip I guess...tis the season!

Happy T to ya!

p.s. I have to confess, your new comment format challenges me because once you are in comments you can't see the blog post to refer back to it LOL...guess I need to make notes ROFLOL

Hi Elizabeth,
Oh you had me there for a minute! I'd love to know how to read tea leaves..... or maybe numerology?

Your assemblages look very cool. Thanks for sharing.

At first I was concerned when I saw the gesso and the paint(?) next to the tea cup..... made me wonder what you were up to!

Hugs,
Kay

Ah, another use for those tin can lids. Great idea!
