While my out of town guests were sleeping in the guest bedroom, in the office on the couch/hide-a-bed, or on air mattresses in the basement, I crept into my main floor craft room this morning and finished a quiltlet I started some time back. When I started, all I had was the background that I had sewn with decorative stitches. This morning to that I added a paint brush, a gifted brooch I removed the backing from, and a "dead" container of E6000. I used a piece of gifted fabric for the center piece (note that someone else cut it, to my benefit), to which I added the brooch and laminate, which doesn't show in the scan. I apologize for the lousy scan.
At the time I created the quiltlet this morning, made using what we altered artists call "found objects" (and non-altered artists call "trash"), I didn't have access to my camera because it was in my office. I wanted to get this ready for AEDM before my friends woke and we started our busy day. However, after everyone was up, and I was able to scan the quiltlet, I realized I should probably also take a photo or two for clarity.
Although I'm not sure this is much better than the scan because my very old camera doesn't take close-ups, you can at least see it's not deformed as the scan shows. The discoloration in the center that you see from this angle is the sticky back laminate holding the brooch in place.
And so I don't forget, I still cannot leave comments on any
Blogger blog with embedded text. If you aren't sure what "embedded" is, simply
scroll to the end of this post and see what I'm talking about, and how to change your comments.
This is Day 23 of AEDM.

This is so YOU - I love it. BJ
Love the dead E6000 tube! That one made me smile. You use it well, use it up and use it again...bravo. xox
Fun art quiltlet. Hope you Thanksgiving was wonderful!
Oh btw - a parcel stamp is just a stamp where the picture is a parcel, package, present whatever you wish to call it. Never used mine before (they were freebie acrylic stamps) but glad I remembered them in time. BJ
Very creative and unique art quiltlet ~ (A Creative Harbor) ^_^
I really like how this turned out as well as your description of altered art vs. trash. I am beginning to think more like an altered artist. I look at everything in a new way! Hope you are enjoying your company.
Great how everything you have and use becomes fodder for altered art. Laughed when thinking of you creeping around to make art while your guests sleep. Real dedication.
