WOYWW 174: the ink edition

Last week I went a little overboard on my photos and diatribe.  This week, I intend to honor Julia's request to keep it short.  Who is Julia?  Why the grand dame of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and keeper of the links, of course.

I'm getting ready to play with inks.  I normally keep all my inks according to manufacturer, but for today I've segregated them according to color.  After all, that's how I'm going to use them.  I also have a few pieces I plan to use for stencils and masks, as well as 90 lb. watercolor paper and some vintage sheet music.

The rocking horse today is fairly well hidden by a small altered book.  He (yes, this one is a he) is surrounded by two that hold candles, that I've shown before.  I've never shown this one, although he has a partner, one that is exactly the same, but sits in the other window of my craft room.

Thanks for dropping by.  Please include your number if you are playing in WOYWW so I don't have to hunt for you.  Pretty please!

You are brave...I'm not sure I'd show a close up of my mini blinds. Although the only one I have is at the kitchen window. It gets splashed upon quite often.

Look forward to see what you've got planned.

Hi Elizabeth! You would have been first again in WOYWW! Amazing! Is that a rocking horse with a bear riding on it? Look at all those inks, I have a few and have no idea what to do with it!!! Patsy from

Hi Elizabeth. No number yet. Mr Linky was missing over at julias. But, I wanted to start my visits or else I will get so far behind. Your grand parents sound like wonderful people. I love pie too. I don't get to play with my inks much. But, very soon. I recently got twinkling H20s. They are just gorgeous. I am about 16 of 17 in the comments.

Hi Elizabeth - thanks for the visit, still not gone to bed and it is now 2.15 am. Head is buzzing.
You should try those brushes (they are the Dreamweaver ones and by far the best I have used) - great for stippling and for using in a circular motion on your cardstock.
Am looking forward to seeing what you are doing with those inks - and the 90lb watercolour paper. Sounds good stuff!

Hugs, Neet (to you and Bleubeard)

I have been tossing around in my brain storing all my inks, embellishments and papers according to color groups so that they are always together to choose from. I like storing the different companies together but I forget that I have them when I go looking. I haven't been able to link at Julias so don't have a number yet. Vickie www.okienurse.blogspot.com

Mr Linky is still MIA but I thought I would come for a quick visit before the madness of my day starts. The rocking horses are great and the desk looks ready to rock and roll. The jury is still out with using inks over here. I just don't seem to be able to get the amazing results you guys get. Sigh, but I will keep trying, you never know. :)

You've made me miss my sprays. They're packed up, awaiting the day I get a permanent home! And I'm pleased to say that I have a rocking horse on my desk today, although what with it being tiny and the photo being crappy, I'm pretty sure you won't find it!

cheers, rachel
No Mr Linky, so here's a link to my WOYWW post.

No Linky number yet. Just read a tip about clicking on the persons name in comments and it takes you straight to their blog. You learn something new every day. I cant wait to see what you create with all the bits on your desk. I have a few inks but I am afraid to use them, I dont like too much mess. Maybe I will be brave?? Tracey R x

Argh to Blogger..it simply wouldn't take the Linky HTML...or so it said. Then I gave up and pressed 'ignore' and bingo, it loaded anyway!!
I've linked you up, sorry for the late night/early morning thing!!
NONE, not one of my sprays now work, despite repeated flushing and rinsing. So now I use the old splatter off a toothbrush technique and get jolly messy doing it! Have fun.

Can see you'll be getting inky fingers soon. I just hate getting messy especially as I craft in my bedroom! Nearly finished my AB, just need to stick the fabric page in today, although I expect that will not be quite straightforward! BJ - still in nighty - #6

Great variey of inks you have there, would love to play with those! I think I need my eyes tested again, it took forever to find the rocking horse behind the blinds, I hope there is only one, or I am worse than I thought - lol. Love the umbrella man too. Happy WOYWW, Anne x #13

Umbrella Man, I'd love one as he makes such wonderful men's cards.

I really must try to make my posts short, just can't get the hang of it.

Thanks for sharing

Look at all those wonderful inks. Can I come and play? Can't wait to see what you produce from them. I shall be spending my day doing the time honoured "one I did earlier" demos, ready for my friend coming tomorrow. Still, It does mean I will have several usable cards at the end of the session. Have a great time with your inks. xx Maggie #36

yes I am lucky to be meeting up with the woywwer crowd soon, but, as I keep saying, there is no reason why you could not make the trip to Blighty so long as Bleubeard can be cared for in your absence...

Love all the sprays, had a little play with some this week,I need a bit more practice, I think. I get a bit frustrated when I don't get a fine mist, more a lot of blobs. Never mind. Have a great week, Shaz #60

I don't know very much about inks so I'm anxious to watch your tutorial on them. All of your setup looks inviting, as does your art window display!

All those inks just scream fun to me! When I use inks I usually end up with funny colored fingers that are a bit disconcerting to non-art types. Shouldn't everyone have blue finger fingers with touches of green and orange?

Hi Elizabeth, inks segregated by colour, now that's what I call organised :) Looks as though you are going to have some real inky fun. And that's me had my rocking horse fix for the week - try not to miss that treat if I can help it. Hope you have a good week and happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #49

Looks like you are in for some inky fun. I have only just started using ink sprays. I'm leery about leaving them out on my desk, least I mist a bad cat with color instead of plain water. I could totally do it. I almost put black reinker in my eye once.

Well it looks like you are ready for some fun here! I missed woyww last week, so may have to go see about this diatribe . . .
