September and October in my monthly calendar

For some reason, I could not get inspired this month as the decorations are nearly non-existent on my calendar pages.  Kate at The Kathryn Wheel, our leader in this escapade, always has such well done and beautifully stamped pages.  But I just couldn't get inspired, except for one tiny picture of an autumn scene.

Even my daily entries, enlarged for those who prefer minutia, were mostly boring, and often smudged as I hurried through the entry.

The first of the month was unbelievably hot, and as autumn appeared, it was still hot.  The month has ended with above average temperatures, which zaps my artistic energy.  About the only thing I managed, were a couple of quotes I thought were interesting enough to write in my journal.

Luckily, my October pages are ready to take on the challenge.  With only three months to go this year, I can only hope motivation returns before I have to make my Christmas gifts.

Your calendar looks a lot fancier than any calendar I've ever used. Cooler temps are coming!

Your daily entries, even the seemingly boring ones, look great when they're all together on your calendar! What a wonderful keepsake of your whole year this calendar is. I keep wanting to make something like it when I see yours!

Hope the weather turns cooler and you are more inspired to create. I still think keeping up every month counts for a lot.

Isn't it crazy there is only 3 months to go until Christmas. Yikes! Very nice pages.

Yay, I'm able to comment again! The last couple times I was here, I couldn't!

I often like calendar pages with mostly color and texture- to me, they really celebrate the days of the month, so I have to say I really enjoyed these!
Have a wonderful October 1st!

Your pages are great, and I am sure you will soon be so bursting with mojo that you won't know what to do first! Valerie

If only we could share out some of your heat and our rain!! Love those colours, is that a shimmery look I see on your October pages? It's great and I do love the way you do your journaling blocks

Some months are just more inspiring that others, it seems. But, we can see by your calendar that you have been more than busy! You are so generous with your time, teaching others the ins and outs of altering books, I don't know how you have time for anything else.

I think you are very motivated. I love the muted colors.

Hi Elizabeth, there are so many different styles people use on their journal pages and all the ones I look at are fab including yours. I keep thinking I'll do some colourful pages like Kate but I never do. Love the transfers below particularly the transparencies :-)

Even though you say you didn't have much energy to create art...I am still impressed with all that you do! The backgrounds look pretty detailed paint-wise to me!

Hi Elizabeth,

I've been thinking I need to keep a personal calendar. This might make it more fun to do -- although I can imagine I'd have a hard time keeping up with it.

Hugs,
Kay

I love the minutiae , it's always fascinating to me to see how oftenothers sop for groceries or record the weather..this calendar set is such a good way to tell what each day had as a sort of .'priority' to you...the computer of course being one of them!

Oh you're so impressive Elizabeth! I gave up in April or perhaps it was March, it's all a bit of a blur, still there's always next year... Mx

Well, at least you did the calendar pages -- they look pretty good to me. It's 106 degrees here right now. Sometimes I think the weather will never, ever change. I sure miss Autumn. Have a great rest of the week. Tammy

I love your painted backgrounds and the fact that you're still doing the calendar challenge must mean you are indeed motivated. It'll be nice to be able to look back upon, and perhaps you might be inspired to add a little something then.

I have enjoyed watching your calendar pages turn and think it takes a lot of motivation and creativity to stick with it! Still wondering HOW it can be October already!!!
Maybe this year you can let yourself off the hook for gift making ... I have done that for a couple of years now in the Christmas card department as it all seemed too much.
Creating should be fun I think...and every muse needs a rest now and then.
Maybe a change in weather will turn things around for you, I am never at my best in the heat.
Fall has arrived here in N VA
Happy October E...I have been having fun catching up with the posts I missed while away

Love those lavender/purple shades for October.

Your background colors evoke the actual feel of Autumn to me, here, where we kind of go immediately from searing heat and drought to wet and chilly.
