A party for the birthday boy

It's time to throw a party. In fact, a very special party.  But I didn't think I was going to get to share this with you because once again, my computer has been on the fritz.  I suspect it's still at risk from viruses, although every virus scan I've run shows there are none on my computer.  Sadly, I can't keep it running for any length of time.  It simply quits while I'm trying to get on the internet.  This was the first time I've been able to even get on the internet since Tuesday morning.

But I was determined to throw a party for the special guy in my life, and wanted to show photos of the party.

Not your normal cake ingredients, but Bleubeard is not your normal party honoree.

It was time to replace his regular food bowl with party pieces.  As an aside, when he was a kitten, he used to stand inside that food dish and eat his food because his head was too small to reach over the rim.  Just to give you an idea of the size, it is the largest dog bowl you can buy.

You can see how small his party plate is in comparison.  His "table" is set, although I chose to lose the napkin, and it was time to wait until he woke from his nap to feed him his once a year treat.

Fancy Feast is on top, and was a mess to try to get out of the can.  The can of Friskies is on the bottom and I think he prefers it.  The Greenies are swimming in juices around the edge of the plate, while the Omega 3 holistic treats are pushed into the top.  I added the candle, but had the sense not to light it.

I managed to get him to turn toward the camera so I could get a photo of his face, rather than the other end.  I admit, that collar has seen better days.  First one side of the plate, then

the other, proved he was hunting for the best food.  Note that several of the Greenies were already gone, but none of the Omega 3 treats had been touched.

While Bleubeard took a short break, I managed to remove the candle so he could eat without putting his eye out.

All that excitement and eating took about thirty minutes, during which time I took over sixty photos.  It was fun seeing him have such a fun time eating.  But he was soon full and went off to clean himself and do other business, while I

wrapped his leftovers, which I then refrigerated, in Press and Seal, a hoarded product I don't normally allow outside my craft room.

By the way, Bleubeard's birthday is tomorrow (Sunday October 28th), but I have too many blogs to visit and a wrap-up homework I have to create.  So it was important to spend this day with him.  Although he got no toys (because he has more now than he plays with), and no new collar (which I see he desperately needs), he seemed content with his one and only gift, his birthday dinner surprise.

I hope you'll be back tomorrow when I show a few of my students' homework.  But first, I must create that post!!  Let's wish Bleubeard a very happy birthday.

Happy birthday, Bluebeard!! How old is he? I see he only eats a select little bit at a time like Miss Karma does.

I hope you find out what the issue is with your internet going down all the time. :( Soon!

the computer i had (prior to this) was doing those same things
it never really behaved
i don't think they ever really got the virus off
i took it to a couple of different places
but i gave up
i decided to place the cost towards a new one...this one i have had problems with for nearly 5 years (knoc on wood)
but i hope you can continue to keep yours going
you may have access to better gurus in your area
