On my desk today you see both hand-dyed fabric and hand-painted paper, both of which I've been playing with lately. Of course, the gesso and black Staz-On ink pad are always there.
I know most of you came to see what rocking horse I would show tonight, and here is a cute plastic pink, blue, and white rocker. I found it when I was cleaning out a box of goodies my friend Kathy sent me several months ago and I failed to deal with until today.
Also on my desk is a sneak peek of something I'm working on.
Sorry I can't reveal it yet, but this blurry shot may reveal more than you think. Have a great WOYWW and I'll try to visit tonight and tomorrow, which will actually be Wednesday in Bleubeard's and my world!

Congrats on being number one!! Hmm, they look domino size but that's about all I can think of. Your hand painted paper and material look great - love the colors.

Hi to you at #1 from me at #24
Very interesting project sneaky peek there.
Elaine
Very pretty hand-dyed fabric!!!
Elizabeth, I'm so glad to hear from you - thanks for dropping by my blog! I actually tried to look at yours this weekend but I got a message that your blog had been removed. Yikes - I was really hoping nothing was wrong!
Yes I did get to see some of Toronto - it is a great city, but unfortunately I was stationed in an outlying area so I could really only go on weekends. Also got to see Niagara Falls, which was amazing. I saw lots of great art galleries in Toronto, and hope to get back in the 'groove' now that I've been home for a few weeks.
I will check back on this mystery art work another day - I'm loving the colours already!
Cindy :)
Interesting paper on your workspace tonight. I like the color and design. You are really being sneaky. Too thin for dominoes, but maybe clay pieces?
Looks like polymer clay tiles of some kind. What a tease--LOL!
Have a super Wednesday! :)

::chanting::...Look who's #1!....::doing the cabbage patch move::...oww....my back...sitting down panting hard....dang hard for an old, over weight woman to do!....giggling and waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
Wow! Absent for 2 weeks and now you're no. 1!!! It's amazing how you always have something new to look at on your desk! How many rocking horses do you have in all? Do you know? Patsy
Like Rita, I thought it might be polymer clay, or could it be fabric on something??? Got me really stumped. I love your fabric and paper colouring.
Have a great week.

cute little rocking horse. Love the way the papers and cloth are turning out! Did you get to Dollar tree to get more tea? I did! Looking forward to seeing the finished project that you gave us a sneaky peek at! Vickie #66
Yay! You are back and that at number 1 too, very impressive!
I think those might be altered dominoes, or mosaic tiles, or, no... I don't have a clue. I like the blues and greens though.
Your hordie is winging his way to you and should reach you pretty soon, I thjink. That is if the South African postal service didn't get hold of him, then it might take a while.
Happy WOYWW!
Tertia #70

I love that you dye fabric and make paper. Lovely! Are you building a rocking horse house perhaps? That's my guess this week.
Cheers,

I am at 91 but I am here, like you I missed a week ( or two?) nice to be back isn't it, I enjoy doing the rounds after a break, somehow it refreshes the view...I am working on my AB later, and Virginia's journal, I will post when I have restored my camera batteries to full function!

Such a TEASE! I'll be waiting. Cute horse this week - with all my internet issues I've missed them the last few!
Mary Anne (29)
Ah, my friend..I don't get as much done as you think...for example, I haven't visited you in an aeon! I thought at first you'd made a lovely board to hold your inky sponges, but of course, why would you hide that. And then..well, you don't do a lot of that sort of thing and really you like to use other media and hmmm, golly if it's not felt, could it be fimo? I don't know. But I love the colours I can see, really rich. My neice from CA is over this week and so i've been adding miles to my car, trying to fit in as much of her as I can..she's been living in Australia so that has severely cramped my visiting..I only get to CA about one in 4 years, and it's been 18 since I went to Sydney! She's made such an effort to come and spend time with my parents bless her, after Dad's scare in Turkey and Mum's rapid spiral into dementia, we're all afraid it will be her last chance. Although of course, M&D are incredibly well...just not as capable as they once were. So it's been quite a week here! Still with you at number one on the list, the balance seems a little restored!!
Looks very interesting indeed, cant wait to see what awaits us
Bridget #30

Hello Elizabeth, your desk looks very interesting and I will be back to see what your up to. Hope your ok and obviously enjoying your crafting. Hugs Rita xx
Oh silly me...looking for rocking horses on the wrong day, ha! ha! Decorating the fabric and paper the same are just brilliant. I hope before the weather gets bad to do some of this myself so I have a stash to use over the winter. I think I know what is hiding under the fabric, but I won't tell :) Looking forward to seeing it!
I have no idea what is under your fabric but I can't wait to find out. Your backgrounds look great.
Darla
Intriguing, can't wait to see what it's all about!
Have a great Wednesday!

Happy belated WOYWW BarbaraBee # 148
Thanks for sharing another rocking horse with us all and some handmade paper too. I am guessing at what is under the cloth and I think it looks like polymer clay. I might be wrong but hope I am not giving too much away in this comment.
Congrats at being no 1 this week.
Hugs, neet 84 xx
Now what craft mystery are you creating. Matt board inchies or clay impressions. Ummmm will have to wait for the reveal.
Sandra @144
Love your paint-spattered desk - now that's a real artist's desk :) Is it just mine, or does gesso have a pretty awful smell:( The little rocking horse is so pretty and dainty. Wishing you a lovely weekend. Elizabeth x #90
I'm thinking that what you are working on is hidden under the paper and cloth..looks like tie-dye or batik thick squares. Intriguing.
Well done on being first. Your paper and fabric are lovely and so is the Rocking Horse. I am guessing at clay pieces hiding there.
Have a great weekend.
Carol
You gotta love gesso. I've been thinking of trying clear gesso. Have you tried it?
Have fun,
