Oh yes I did!!

My art friend and good buddy Kathy and I went shopping in Wichita, KS on Friday. Kathy was ready to shop and made quite a haul. She spent a tad over $50.00, while my bill was less than $10.00. In fact, it wasn't even $8.00, which included tax. Of course, Kathy bought a lot of Sizzex goodies, all of which were 50% off, as well as some Tim Holtz dies, also 50% off. She even bought lots of scrapbook paper, but she intends to make birthday cards, because she has seen so many examples on Pinterest. However, I failed to get any photos of the day, except this one I took of polymer clay, which was on sale at Michael's. No, I didn't buy any, but I did buy a few things.


As much as I said I would NOT buy anything this year, but use up some of the huge amounts of art supplies I already own, I started my buying spree a few weeks ago at the thrift store, when I purchased some rubber stamps. However, on Friday I had a list. I wanted E-6000 (check) and a new brayer (check). Of course, I couldn't stay away from the clearance items either, most of which were 80% off. The Wilton's doilies were 50% off with a coupon, as were the E-6000 and the brayer.

The felt crowns and red doilies I will use as masks or stencils. The metal pieces, one package was already opened when I bought it, will find their way into some art I'm hoping to make soon. At least as soon as I finish my altered book classes, which seem to consume most of my time lately.


I have gone through a plethora of this glue in the past couple of months. As you can see, I'm badly in need of more.


Everyone keeps telling me I need a better brayer. I'm not sure this one is better, but I hope it is. I'm anxious to put it to work. Mod Podge could have kept their rubber scraper, which was part of the package, because I will continue to use my faux credit cards to spread my glue and paint.


I treated all my purchases the same. I first removed them from their external packaging, if appropriate, then put them where they belonged. Each of the items I bought had a specific place, except this paint, a whim purchase, that turned out great. When scanned, it cost me a whole PENNY (one cent). At least I got everything I desperately needed and a few I didn't need, but will use.

Ironically, Kathy overslept and was a bit late getting to my house. Then she cut my hair. Next we went to Michael's where we stayed for nearly four hours. By then it was too late to visit Mrs. O'Leary's, a local scrapbook store that specializes in altered art and Tim Holtz products. Finally, I treated her to an early evening dinner. At each place, I forgot to take photos. Why I didn't I have no idea, since I carried my camera within handy reach the entire day. I guess I was having too much fun and the day just slipped away without any photos, except the first one above I captured while Kathy was in a different area of the store. I hope your weekend started out (and continued to be) as fun as mine. And yes, I spent money on craft items!
