Summer of Color: Wild N' Reckless Sherbet

According to Kristin at Twinkle, Twinkle, our hostess for this summer event, this week's ice cream color is Wild N' Reckless Sherbet, or

"A green apple, blue raspberry, and fruit punch flavored sherbet party.
Fruit has never had so much fun."
- Baskin Robbins

I'm not sure where Kristin found all these flavors, but they are, for the most part, new to me. However, green apple, blue raspberry, and fruit punch are colors I can definitely create in my studio using various Staz-on dyes (reinkers) and 91% alcohol.

I used the same five colors to dye the fabric as I did the lace. I fussy cut an image, added a dried flower from my garden, along with some dyed vintage sheet music and encased them in clear laminate, a technique I read about in Cloth, Paper, Scissors a couple of years ago.

I kept the back plain, leaving off the lace so the colors of the sherbet could show through unhindered. I added my name and called this quiltlet ready to hang.

Thank you for visiting. I had a computer meltdown last week, then went out of town before I could get the computer fixed. I apologize that I was unable to visit many of you. I promise to do better this week.

Please don't forget today is the final day to enter my blogoversary giveaway. Just leave a comment if you want to be included in the giveaway. I will close comments at 12:02 AM CDT on Tuesday (see my sidebar under Wichita for the time difference), after which, you will no longer be eligible for consideration.

I guess now you can appreciate why I always sign BJ instead of Billy-Jane!! LOL. Made the bow on 2 cocktail sticks stuck into my wooden tool box about 1cm apart (who needs a bow maker??)
Love your quiltlet and especially the vintage sheet music, not found any here yet. And your colour dying is super. Hopefully one day I'll get as creative as you in that department. BJ
