Studio Tea

Today I'm once again in the studio working on a project with a deadline. I need to get this project finished, because I have no time to rest or relax with Kimmie and friends for tea. So I popped open a can of cold AriZona green tea with ginseng and honey.

My tea was finished long before the gesso dried on the first side of this lightweight cardboard. This empty container is now ready to be cut to use in art. I envision using it in a mixed media piece, but for now, it will need to be washed and dried, then set aside until I have time to use it. It's a good thing this isn't a video. That empty can and cardboard towel roll were bouncing all over the table (do you see where the cardboard liner rolled into the gesso?) from the fan until I put some obstacles in their way. I hope your day is less busy and you have a few minutes to relax with tea or your favorite drink.

Busy, busy, busy!! I love the colour of that tea drink can, will be looking out for what you end up doing with it!! It is driving me crazy that I now have hours to fill and nothing to play with... and once I get home and my shipment arrives I will have things to play with and no time to play!! LOL
I sent an email to your cox account but haven't had a reply so don't know if you got it or not?

sometimes waiting for gesso to dry is like waiting for water to boil - it takes forever!!! I love the look of those arizona tea cans ... that will be a wonderful element to use in a mixed media piece!

enjoy your day - and stay cool!!!

You have my curiosity up now... Wash and dry the cardboard? What does this do to the cardboard? And how do you go about doing it?

Darn it!!! I sent 2 of those with Mr. G this weekend and he didn't bring them back. Those would have made fun fodder. Glad someone is making some art. My back is bad again...I can't seem to stay in any one position for long. Esp if my arms are out in front of me...which is the majority of the time when you are doing something!!!!

That tea looks inviting.
The gesso is so wonderfully thick. No wonder it took a while to dry!
Have fun! :)

Elizabeth you are so clever. I've always loved that Arizona tea can -- and you've inspired me to keep my next empty one! I'm making angels using old silverware and they need wings -- think I'll get out my snips and cut out some wings using those cans..... yep, you've inspired me!!!!

Hugs,
Kay

Oh I know we will be seeing that can in a piece of your art real soon! I don't have many deadlines--except for maybe the challenges I participate in--but I seem to work well under occasional pressure...key word...occasional!

Is that Tea diet? It looks yummy. You are so creative and inspiring. That looks like a huge tub of Gesso, where did you buy it? It seems like even the smallest jars are so expensive. Does it matter what the brand is?

I love your calendar journal! Hope it cools down soon. Looking forward to seeing your gessoed project!

I spotted the tea immediately as it is my favorite drink (of those in a can). I've never used the can in art tho, I can't wait to see how you do that.
