Kitchen Windowsill Tea

I apologize for not linking up with Kimmie last week. By the time I was about to, my computer fried. Well, not literally, but I couldn't get it running in time before my friends and I left for the holiday. But I'm back now, and wanted to show what I've been up to.

I've been making green tea for about three weeks, and I decided to emulate some of my blogging friends, including Kimmie, our hostess, who are saving their tea bags on their kitchen windowsills. I don't have a very big kitchen window, so real estate is quite limited on the ledge.

However, right before these bags were completely dry, I decided to take a photo on the windowsill. Unfortunately, it was nearly dark by the time I decided to take this shot. I was quite unhappy with the color I got from the stained glass piece a friend of mine sent me a few months back. That's when I decided to

shoot it again early this morning. I have to admit, the stained glass was much more true to form, but everything else was so dark and I couldn't adjust for the contrast. At least now I know it's time to remove those teabags from the holder. In fact, I have another pitcher of sun tea that will be ready to drink shortly. Of course, I can't allow it to sit too long outside for fear of bacteria, as Halle, another tea drinker friend, pointed out a few weeks ago. With summer here, it's easier to drink teabag tea. After all, other than needing to be mindful of bacteria, I can sit back and relax because sun tea "makes itself." Be sure to join Kimmie our hostess, who says green tea is actually better when made as Sun Tea. Also join the rest of my Tea Tuesday friends and celebrate your favorite drink today.

By the way, I'll be drawing a winner for my blogoversary giveaway in just a few minutes and will announce the winner this evening.

Love the cobalt blue bottles in the sill. I had a blue and white kitchen at my old house. I had a bunch of bottles lined up like that all well. So pretty. I really like the stained glass and shell piece as well.
Happy Tea day!

Have to smile at how similar our window sills look...my tea bag paper pile keeps growing and growing AND I find it really hard to get rid of pretty blue bottles too!
Lovely stained glass piece you photographed so nicely

I am on the verge of actually doing a little something with my tea bag collection again...
I have had a T post in mind for that too for a long while...now if only I can find the photos

Happy T to ya E

I've been seeing lots of people saving teabags on their windowsills lately... I might just have to start doing that too - I've been wanting to paint on them :)

I love your wild 'n reckless fabric - my first thought when I saw those colors was that it looked like tie dyed fabric (not food!) Hee hee!

The stained glass window looks beautiful in both lights. Dried teabags on window sills-good idea. Also, with them right there in front of you each morning, you are sure to remember to create something wonderful with them.

I agree about using tea bags for sun tea in the summer. So easy and so good.

I love the first photo with the reflections and the blue light outside .... I look forward o seeing how you use your paper. I love it for adding texture to collage .... And it's transparency.

I'll be making cloud tea again today, as the clouds have rolled back in ... I'll try not to forget about it and let it turn into swamp water though (lol)!

...it's always difficult taking shots where the window can reflect and so annoying too when you move from this angle to that, there must be some trick but I don't know Elizabeth...anyways as for your Tea Tuesday, you always come up with some amazing Tea Brands, some I've heard of & some not but Sun Tea, thats a new one to me...Mel :)
Hope your are well and enjoyed your time away...and Bleubeard too :)

yes, I am not so great with lighting of photos, hence my use of the scanner...fun images of your window sill, though. And the stained glass is really lovely, as is the blue bottle. I have a thing for bottles. will be interested to see what you do with the tea bags!

Love the stained glass and the blue bottle! I'm going to have green tea... but it's cloudy so I'll have to fix it with the kettle!

Love the first photo! What are you saving your teabags for? I've been drying, flattening and saving the papers becuase I found a tutorial on puting them thru the printer and printing photos-if you use a B&W or sepia pic, or soften a colored pic you get a vintage look.

The stained glass piece is beautiful, and like one of the previous posters, I'll be watching to see what you do with your dried tea bags.

I would be honored to have my blog in your side bar--thank you so much for wanting to include it.

Yes, we did go to Alcatraz...and it was amazing. I am soon going to go day by day of our two week trip and I will tell all about it.

Glad you have joined in the graveyard crew... the papers are worth it... and I wish we could make some sun tea here... usually winter is gloriously sunny, but this year it is grey and wet and just awful... maybe you can make some for me!!!!

With the two shots I can picture it all perfectly. Love the blue bottles, too. :)

Your window sill is quite interesting. The blue bottle really caught my attention - I have lots of cobalt blue in my kitchen.
